I have recently seen a little bit of an increase in my porn spending and just wanted to get an idea of how much others spend on adult material (DVD, subscriptions, magazines, toys, etc). Anyone willing to share?

A couple years ago, probably 2007-'09, I was really reckless in regards to my porn spending. Back then, I could easily piss away $100+ on monthly memberships to 6+ sites every month. Eventually, between purchasing memberships that quickly disappointed and the fact that I didn't have as much money to burn, I was able to cut back on my porn spending big time. Nowadays, I'd say that my spending is down to $50 or less per month, only buying memberships for one or two sites that I know I like every month. I also take advantage of some of the e-mail discount offers I get from certain sites. I still buy DVDs, too, although I've never gone crazy with spending money on them; it helps that there's Adult DVD Marketplace, a place where I can buy the hottest new releases for under $20 and also find some great titles from years past for real cheap.
I probably spend anywhere between $100-200 each month (roughly estimated) on subscriptions/DVDs. Some months I join a lot of sites and buy a lot of flicks I want, other months there aren't that many new flicks that interests me and no time or money to join sites.
There was a time that I too, spent about $100-$200 per month on porn. I would guess that I roughly spent between $10K-$20K on porn in my life. Some people (especially those who are not into porn) would probably think I am one sick individual. The way I look at it however is if I would have had a woman in my life to meet my sexual needs I may not have bought the porn, HOWEVER I probably would have easily spent $10K-$20K on her trying to keep her happy. So whether I have a real sexual partner or buy porn it's an expense either way.
Before the internet I would buy VHS tapes just by looking at the boxcover. The boxcovers never showed all the ugly dude ass in the tape. Those were horrible times, but a goldmine for porn producers. Trailers now save me huge.
I second this. Old times (DVD/VCR) about $200-300 monthly, now less than $100 per month. P.S. For JAV collectors things are still high. I would eventually move over there. :P
Ahhh, the days of basing your purchasing decisions on the box cover image....Isn't that still true - to an extent - today, though? I still find it hard to resist the lure of a nice cover - and, yes, I prefer 'graphic' covers over artsy/tasteful ones, even though the latter usually have the nastiest action. I really wish there was a simple way to sort from the wheat from the chaff nowadays, though. Reading the comments - as entertaining as they are - for every scene on Videobox takes forever.

^ Part of the problem with reviews is that they come from all over the place, in terms of the reviewer's point-of-view. And, it's even more time consuming to learn particular reviewer's tastes. One thing I've learned from ADT, however, is that, for everything you think is great and everything you think is disgusting, there are going to those that diametrically disagree with you, and bitterly so.

A few years ago I could spend between $100-150 a month in subscriptions, but now I simply follow my two or three favorite girls and buy what I can of them, when I can.
I hadn't idea till this discussion, so I made a few calculation. For the last couple of months I'm spending about 100$ per month in subscriptions. On top of that sometimes I add some / single scene purchase.
I have been collecting porn on and of for many years (I am in my mid 60's now) I do not do downloads or pay membership online. My sole expenditure goes on DVD's and I currently spend about £500 ($800) per month. I am trying to get as many scene's on DVD only of as many female pornstars as possible from as many different countries as possible I import most of my porn from America and Europe and stay away as much as I can from 18R material. I think the grim reaper will be coming for me before I give up collecting as I find this a very satisfying ? hobby.
Whoa, that's dedication dude. And what percentage of those would you say you actually watch? Also, if I might ask, what is your aversion to joining websites & downloading? I used to be like you - I was spending a fortune on DVDs because (a) I was wary of porn sites and (b) didn't really understand downloads or how it all worked. A few months ago I got myself a secure debit card (Kalixa Pay is what I use), took the plunge and have never looked back. Apart from 'in house' studios (Score Group etc.) and sale bargains I'd be surprised if I ever bought a DVD again.Your folks are in for an eye-opener when they go to clear out your stuff then.
N00dlesDaddy I think its more (b) than anything besides the fact I prefer to have it physically in my hand with the artwork besides my knowledge on how to work a computer ends with pressing the keyboard if nothing happens I am lost. What my folks do or don't think will be irrelevant because I will by then be in porno land heaven
^ I know what you mean about the 'tactile' experience of owning a physical DVD. I do like them - and music on CD - myself but I long ago ran out of storage space (even keeping the discs without boxes). Consider the fact that, depending on the size of the files, you can keep maybe a couple of hundred DVDs on one external hard drive - which is about the size of a pack of playing cards - and it quickly becomes a no-brainer. Add to that the fact that a one-month membership to a site like Videobox costs less than the price of one DVD - for which you have access to nearly 18,000 movies to download to your heart's content...and, well, you see what I'm saying. Downloading is simplicity itself; if you're savvy enough to have signed up to ADT it shouldn't present any problem to you. Besides, there's a wealth of advice to be had online.
I spend approx $100 - $200 on DVDs a month and have one subscription, the amount of DVDs in my collection are becoming a problem, storage being the main concern. I am considering going solely to download but I love owning an actual product. Is there any sites out there where I can download a complete movie, opposed to just downloading scenes?
^ Videobox really could do with a 'download all' option. I suppose I shouldn't complain but that does annoy me. The 'custom download' option is a nice feature, though, allowing you to dispense with the non-sex parts of scenes or other tedious stuff that takes up valuable disk space. As far as downloading complete movies (as one file), I've only ever done this by buying them individually from sites like blissbox.com, sugardvd and/or hotmovies.
