just curious that whether porn occupation is so gainful or not? i did read from somewhere that just about porn females earn considerably a lot of money more than their male counterparts. Is it true.
I wanna hear an answer from anyone involving in the industry or our lovely pornstar here
Thanks

That's what Jenna Jameson said on Howard Stern. I was thinking about editing the piece, but it was so funny that I decided to cut & paste the entire thing and highlight the parts concerning your question. Here it goes:

----------------------------------------------------------

Jenna: " Porn Chicks Hate Themselves"; "I'm Not Gay" Stern: "Who's Tera Patrick?"

Jenna Jameson [right] was on the Howard Stern show this morning. Jameson told Stern she was out of her mind to get married but is looking to do it again. "I love men," said Jameson who insisted she wasn't gay. Jameson is appearing at the Stripper Vollyball Championship at Neptune's in the Hamptoms this weekend.

Before Jameson came on, Gary noted that she looked "younger". "She's too hot to be in porn," Stern said. "That's why she's in porn. If you're a girl in porn and are too hot to be in porn, that's the ones that make the money."

Someone commented that Jameson looked Asian. It was noted that Jameson came to the show with an entourage including a boyfriend, an assistant and bodyguards. "team Jenna has arrived," Gary announced. Jameson immediately dispelled rumors that she was married. "The last time I was on the show I was single," she said. "I have been married." Stern made a point that "all porno chicks marry a guy who doesn't have any work." Stern wanted to know why that was. Jameson said she didn't know. "I don't," she said. Jameson said he ex-husband [Brad Armstrong] had been a director in the adult business. "But that doesn't count. He made a lot less than me." Stern said being a director in the porn business wasn't a real job. When asked Jameson said directors made about $5,000 a video. Stern said he could direct one. "I've seen the caliber of acting." Stern persisted on the question of all porno chicks being in the same rut. "Gluttons for punishment," was Jameson's guess. "They hate themselves- a lot of them do."

"Was there a molesting uncle? There's always a molesting uncle," commented A.J. Benza. Jameson said he was never molested. Jameson said she led a pretty normal life, that she was a cheerleader in high school. She was asked how you make the transition from cheerleader to porn star. "I was stripping while I was still in high school," she said. "I was 17." Jameson, 27, said her mother had passed away when she was 4, and she and her brother were raised by her father. Jameson said her father, a police officer, dated her friends, and she rebelled over that. Jameson said she started stripping at the age of 16. Jameson was asked why she would marry a guy who made nothing. "I was out of my mind," she said. "I was a kid. I was 20 when I got married. I was just a kid." Jameson says her current boyfriend is a former porn director. "He did direct like two films, but he's very successful in other things. He's in the phone business." Stern insinuated that it sounded like a phony situation. "He's retired," Jameson said. Stern wanted to know how much money the guy made. Jameson said he was a millionaire. Stern asked her if she was going to sign a pre-nup and Jameson said she hadn't really thought about it. Jameson said she had also dated Tommy Lee at one time.

Stern brought up the fact that he had a girl named Melissa [a Penthouse Pet] on his show recently and that Melissa said she was totally straight until she made love to Jameson who turned her totally gay, that she was now in love with Jameson although she is marrying a guy. Jameson said Melissa shouldn't get married. Jameson was reminded that she herself was getting married. "I'm not gay," Jameson replied. "You're SO gay," Stern rebutted. "You don't like men." Jameson said she did, Stern insisted she didn't. Gary reminded Jameson that he saw her in action at Al's Caberet. "When you want a woman, you're like a man. You're like a vulture." Jameson admitted to be bisexual. "You're more than bisexual, you're gay," Stern said. Jameson said her best sexual experience ever was with a man, her current boyfriend. Stern played the taped interview of Melissa relating the incident in which Jameson seduced her. Melissa said she was totally straight and had met Jameson at a club where Jenna was dancing. Melissa who thought that Jameson just wanted to be friends accepted an invite to come back to Jameson's hotel room. She didn't think there was any ulterior motive attached to the invite. Jameson then seduced her. Stern wanted to know what was Jameson's trick.

"Just be yourself and kind of like be friends first," said Jameson who admitted she was pretty good with her tongue. "I think it's all in how you hold the girl," Jameson added. "When I have sex with a girl it's like a man having sex with a girl." Stern said Jameson was like the Typhoid Mary of lesbianism.

Stern asked Jameson if she was a millionaire, a question that brought a yes response. Jameson said she didn't even have to make pornos any more. "I produce my own now," she said [on clubjenna.com]. Jameson said she was putting a life webcam in soon. Jameson says she works mostly with girls but will only do her husband. Jameson wouldn't say how many members her website has. Jameson did say she was worth between $5 to $10 million . A caller asked her if it was true that performers coming into the business had to perform in gay scenes first. Jameson said that was a myth although many male performers had done them.Stern said the guys were cheesy-looking. The subject was brought up about a scene Jameson once did with Randy West. She said it was one of the very first pornos she had ever done. "It was really gross," she said. She claimed she got $10,000 for that scene. "For your first thing that's unheard of," she said. Jameson said that scene was in Up N Cummers 11.

Mike Walker of the National Enquirer asked Jameson if she was ever going to do a scene with Tera Patrick. "She doesn't like girls," said Jameson but noted she had done a magazine layout with Patrick. Stern wanted to know who Tera Patrick was. [Then, again, Stern didn't know who Tom Byron was.] Walker informed Stern that Patrick was one of the hottest girls in the business. "She's Thai and English," Walker said noting that Patrick's name was close to Carmen Electra's real one, Tara Patrick. Walker told Stern about the big piece done in the New York Times several weeks ago [complete with bogus statistic]. "What is it a $10 billion industry?" said Walker.

Stern tried doing a psychological read on Jameson Robin noted that Janine was tattooing herself out of the porn business. :Here's what happens for chicks like Jenna," said Stern. "They go into porn and that's how they get well known. Then they get famous. Then they start hanging around with a lot of famous people. All the famous people are in legitimate show business, and Jenna's like, I don't want to be in porn. Everyone's putting it down. That's what happens to her."

"You are a porno star- embrace it- don't reject it," Stern advised her. Stern told her to do more guys, too."Keep the illusion going if you like that," added Stern who kept insisting that Jameson's gay. "I love guys," Jameson countered. Stern said Janine must hate guys. Stern asked Jameson if she ever did a scene with a girl who stunk. "Actually I had that problem one time with a girl," Jameson said. "I quit the scene." Jameson said she made it very clear to the girl that she needed to do something about it. Jameson said she thought the girl needed a doctor.

Stern told Jameson to bring out her entourage, primarily because he was curious to meet her boyfriend. Jameson was quick to note that she had no set plans to get married. Robin thought the guy was "cute". Stern who asked the guy about being a porno director, started mocking the guy's speech patterns. "Why do you have such a bad voice?" Stern wanted to know. "What country are you from. Where were you born?" Cleveland was the answer. "You should never speak," Stern advised. Jameson said she was used to it. "Nobody can ever understand him." Jameson's boyfriend said he still does some directing- for Jameson's website. "He looks a lot better than he sounds," Robin chimed in. Stern wanted to know how he made all his money. "Youre in the phone business? What does that mean? Do you own a phone company." Jameson's boyfriend said that he had 1-800 Call Usa. An explanation was offered what that was all about but Stern kept insisting he couldn't understand what the guy was saying. [This time he wasn't exaggerating].

Yes, the girls make more than the guys, but the guys in gay videos do very well. I don't know numbers, but am told they get paid what the star girls in the straight side do.

The scenes are not the only reason girls make more. They turn their popularity into ways to make good money featuring at strip clubs and selling merchandise, which is something you're not going to see Mark Davis doing anytime soon, no matter how much of a hottie he is.

It used to be that it was easier for ex-guy performers to become directors and turn that into more money, but now there are a lot of women performers who are becoming successful directors and producers. Yeah!

It is true that a director may make only $2000 to $5000 clear for a movie he directs. That's why it's much better to work for one of the VERY few companies who lets the director maintain ownership of their movie or at least receive royalties. Then the profit can start at $5000 to 10,000 and go up from there.

As for Jenna's boyfriend, I knew him when he was involved in production for companies like VCA, and he is a VERY sweet guy. (Shame on Howard, as usual!)

Wow does anyone know what magazine that Jenna and Tera layout was in or has it not come out yet. Just the thought of those two lovely ladies even simulating sex together is a great vision. Well it wasn't too long ago that Tera licked Alishas pussy on her web show so maybe there is hope for Tera yet, lol. Actually I respect her a lot for not doing girls if she doesn't want to but PLEASE PLEASE Tera have a change of heart, lol.

Just wanted to make a quick comment...
the men in gay porn.. make about ten times if not more than the women do in straight porn... women in straight porn make more money than the men...
but, it mostly depends on who you are what you do and how well you perform... for the most part...

There's no way I can be sure about that, but I suppose that gay porn is far more lucrative than str8 one. It just keeps a lower profile, with far less media exposure.
