But I think performers eventually will retire because A.I. porn will be realistic and cheap and real porn becomes too expensive.

VR does give a much better sense of scale, but the setup involved is kind of a pain.
AI is great for some things, and I'm sure some people out there will be paying for AI material, but I think wanting to see actual people is going to continue to be the main thing. There's the pure visual aspect of the industry, but I think there is some appeal to the fact that real people come together and put on these performances.
Poking around OF type pages, there is a lot of money flying around, or at least being asked for, for more personal material. Studio productions are kind of more serving as ads for the model themselves. People looking for new follows on creator platforms are discovering new models on studio sites and then finding their link page instead of simply enjoying the studio content. So that's one reason model pay might not need to go up, they aren't really doing it for the money but trying to grow their audience. I think we might see more of a mutualism between creator platforms and studios. People paying for studio paysites to find new faces. People being directed to studio sites to find the higher production value content that performers might make. Maybe models will end up selling studio scenes on their pages, splitting revenue with the studio but also leaving in the watermark so followers will check out the studio.
Optimistically, since it's easier for performers to control their destiny through platforms, I hope we see general conditions and pay improve for performers. I don't work in the industry, but as an outsider it has a bit of a mixed reputation in their professionalism and safety. Cross promotion and improving comp could help draw new outstanding stars to the studios. But also doing everything above board is going to maybe be even more important. It should be as safe for a performer to do studio work as it is for them to do their own self-managed shoots.

The biggest issue I see with porn overall in this decade is there's too many people who think imitation is the most sincere form of flattery or alternatively who are too lazy to create porn scenes that stand out from the assembly line. Don't get me wrong, there are still good scenes out there with surprisingly good chemistry and erotic fireworks but I've seen my fair share of scenes by a single studio that all feel the same rather than each being their own unique thing. I feel like the VMG, Dorcel, Twistys, AdultTime, PureTaboo, FakeHub, SHV/SS, MissaX still manage to keep a number of scenes fresh and unique in presentation.
