| enfuego New Member 4 Posts 7/05 | I have been considering getting a projector (probably an Optoma H31) to watch porn on. The thought of watching porn on a 100" screen with picture quality that rivals plasma has got me very interested. Does anyone have any experience with watching porn on a projector? Is it any good? Or should I just go with a small LCD tv for the same price? [Link] |

Regular TV looks like comparative ass, but what do you expect for NTSC on a 77" screen... :) It's certainly still watchable--you just get spoiled after watching too much HD... Anyway, I've got an Evil Angel disc, and some Wicked titles I could check out on the projector, and I'll give you a little mini-report on my findings tomorrow. This is the type of screen I have 90 inches. I like it alot, but you have to sit far away from it because it's SO big, so a smaller LCD screen might be better depending on what type of viewing space you have available. |

If I had the money, I WOULD buy a DLP projector to watch HD. We recently watched Eyes Wide Shut in HD, and that experience alone made me desperately wish I had one of my very own. As a porn fan who really likes to appreciate the subtle perfections and imperfections of a woman's body, I'd call being able to watch porn on it a very desirable fringe benefit. Anyway, projectors, especially decent ones, are expensive. Not just for the unit itself, but for the setup (the screen, and the havoc they can wreak in the room you're trying to use them in--ceiling mounts, or special furniture requirements, etc.). While DLP projectors are VERY bright (compared to LCD, and the now antiquated triple gun, RGB projectors) and stand up well in a lit room, it's still best to block out as much light as possible, and that can mean the purchase of heavy curtains or other light abating techniques that darken the room during the day. And there are some disadvantages to DLP projectors where LCD has the edge (rainbow effect for single chip DLPs, etc.). DLP is literally mind-blowing technology though, I have to say, and a high quality, multi-chip DLP projector will run you about $10,000, but they are beautiful to look at. Single chip DLPs (like the one my friend has) are much less expensive, and are certainly good enough for most people outside of a professional environment. Anyway... there it is. Just for your information, the adult title I checked out on the projector was Evil Angel's "Just Fuckin'" -- specifically Sandra Romain's scene. Edited by - MLyons on 7/15/2005 9:32:23 AM |
