I recently bumped into a porn star at a pancake house... walked up to her table and told her I followed her on twitter and she asked for my username so she could follow me... I felt kinda weird talkin to her with her father sitting across the table so I kept it clean, wanted to ask something like "Any chance of you being in the next BAKERS DOZEN" but father looked annoyed that this perv and is probably going home to whack off to one of his daughter's movies...
i dont know, me personally, i think it was rude to approach her at a place like that especially with her father thats what conventions are for, having a meal with her father im sure she doesnt want porn fans approaching.

Only a jackass would approach a performer while she's having a meal with their family.

In my experience, in Canada usually people don't even approach movie stars in public, as we don't want to bother them. I've heard this is something that big movie stars like about Canada.
I read some interview w/ Lily Thai and she mentioned some dude coming up to her while she was having lunch w/ her Mom and started asking her questions and telling her he was a big fan. Yeah, not cool at all. It would be just enough to see a star and maybe give a discreet knowing look or wink but that would be all. She said it obviously made her very uncomfortable. This has to be complete bullshit. I also agree with the other poster, it was incredibly rude to approach whoever it was while she was eating with someone. I don't see how the OP would know that it was her father unless she introduced him as such.
I couldn't see there was anyone else in the booth until I was right in front of them... I did not know it was her father until AFTER, when I read her twitter timeline where she tweeted " in IHop with my dad"...

I really don't see what knowing or not knowing who the people are has to do with it when seeing a performer have a meal. Bottom line is she's not in character and with civilians, only jackass would say something.

I don't understand what is going on here. Some of you calling jackass, over and over. I didn't know such people existed here. Look the important thing here is that you are disturbed by a person you barely know, while you are eating with your company. This is not cool at least for me. About the person being disturbed is a porn star. Guys are you aware that she is a "porn star". She is a porn star because she is demanded more by porn fans. She is paid more because her pussy lips are big, her ass small/big/fat whatever you call it. She is paying the social price of being a "porn star" goddamnit ! If you are famous/talented enough to be a star, you gonna have fans! If you have a fan, of course people will try to contact you, will harrass you in a non dangerous (acceptable) way of course ! I don't get why you are disturbed by her being with her father either. She is getting fucked by others in front of cameras, it's ok for the money but when it comes to a fan saying hello, somehow trying for a contact while she is with her father, its not ok ? (probably ok for you guys if the fan gave her some buck fifty) Being a fan to porn star is not different than being a fan to a famous singer. Thats why stars try avoid being public, because they know they are going to be harrassed. Every step you take in this life has an opportunity cost! Dude, you just don't get it obviously. It's disrespectful! Porn is a fantasy and should be left a fantasy. Many porn stars are at many conventions, events and strip clubs all throughout the year. If you are a fan, those are the places you should go to meet your "stars" not out in public with families. It's also disrespectful to the family or friend member they are with. I'm sure most of the performers family members aren't comfortable about it being around either. If you go up to a performer when she is with obvious family/friend in public then you are a douche bag.
Dvamp44, I get it better than you, no doubt. I didn't approve anything, I didn't use the word "meet". I don't say its the best thing to do in the world, like i said it's not cool too but you have to accept the facts. If you make a choice, you have to live with the consequences, nobody is forcing you to become a porn star. If family members are disturbed by having fans around them, then they should keep her out of this job. This is a FACT !
I agree disturbing someone is an intrusion. I don't agree that famous people give up their right to enjoy life, including enjoying a meal in public. But, I do believe they should expect some fan recognition. I was in a similar situation where I saw a famous sports figure enjoying lunch with his family in a casual eatery. I choose to allow them to enjoy their meal without disturbing them because I felt it was their right. But, when they got up to leave, I acknowledged I knew who he was and made an approving comment. I thought that was appropriate and allowed me the chance to connect briefly and show my appreciation for his talents. I didn't ask for an autograph, but I wouldn't think it would have been inappropriate to do if I was into collecting them. For me, that seemed to be the right balance between intruding and acknowledging fan recognition. I think interrupting their meal to ask a question or collect an autograph would be inappropriate.
Its not that they are giving up right to "enjoy life", they give up the right to be in public at ease. Think about lets say Madonna, she can go for a walk in the cities most crowded street like everyone else, can she ? Of course not. like i said its the cost being a celebrity They do enjoy the life differently. Maybe she likes to enjoy a view + food in one of the best restaurants of Paris so for a night she goes Paris by her private jet and comes back. Maybe i would like it too, but for me walking in cities most crowded street is enjoying the life, Who is enjoying the life ? Me or Her. Both of us. Who is enjoying it better ? Well the answer depends on you if you there should be one
Why? They have the same right to be in public as I do. I agree they should expect to be recognized and responded to, but it seems to me there's appropriate and inappropriate recognition. I just think they should be allowed to enjoy a meal in peace. If they're in transition - walking out of a restaurant perhaps - that's an appropriate time to recognize them without being overly intrusive. I think the paparazzi treatment is another example of very inappropriate intrusion. That's someone trying to make a buck off of someone elses success by intruding on their life. Very inappropriate. I understand why they do it, I just don't think it's appropriate.
M-A-N-N-E-R-S. It would never occur to me to go up to anyone famous (in porn or not) while they were eating a meal in a restaurant and start talking to them. I don't like being disturbed when I'm eating, so why should I think it's OK to disturb someone else when they're eating? If I know someone personally, and I say hello while walking by their table, or they greet me while walking by mine, that's acceptable. But a total stranger? Never. I can see where it would be tempting to want to interact with your favorite porn star/starlet, but how about a little impulse control?
Saw Gauge at the 3rd Street Promenade in 2006. She was with her parents, or they were just two really old, old friends of hers. Anyway, she was walking out of the Gap and I was with my wife and I think I must have said something or looked her way because my wife asked me if I knew who she was. I said, Yes, I did know who she was. I didn't really care to elaborate, but my wife knows that I worship pornstars, so I didn't really have to. But Gauge was a fox in person. And tiny. I mean, tiny tiny.

Celebrities and porn stars are two waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy different things. Being a star and being a porn star encompass different job requirements, so approaching in public is walking on thin ice. Regardless of what anyone says, I'm sure that parents aren't as cool with a their child's porn choice as the star leads us to believe. For all we know, said star in IHOP was trying to reconcile from a falling out she had with her father over her career choice and the guy just barges up and says; "hey, Dick Sucking Susan, I loved your work in Cum Fart Felching Cuties #6. When you going to be doing anal with black guys?" And just like that, any chance of reconcilation goes out the window. Or maybe her father didn't know her career choice and you just destroyed a perfectly good relationship because you're a fanboi. Given that the OP followed her on twit and "just happened" to show up at the IHOP when she was there and also has a moniker of Tony Romo, I'd almost use the word stalker. Consequences of doing porn or not, when she's not in character, it's not your place to announce it to the world.
Rod you are talking about whats acceptable or not (I also mentioned thats not acceptable either) but i'm talking about realities and facts. About your example concerning paparazzis, yes i hate them too, the way they act is most of the times is terrible. You know lady diana died because of paparazzis. But at the end, it comes to the same spot i'm defending. Paparazzis watch celebrities, not because those guys wonder what they are doing, because PEOPLE/PUBLIC like to watch what they are doing in their real life. Paparazzis are PAID to chase celebrities.
I agree. When someone is eating, they do not want to be disturbed. You thought it might have ben a perfect moment , it just was not. Regarding u did not know it was her father does not matter. She deserves to eat in peace. So , u made a mistake, just do not repeat.
I think performers and other public people enjoy being recognized. It sounds like this gal did, too, because asked the fan his twitter name. I've bumped into famous people of many types of professions. I think the best thing to do is simply say "Hi, Jennifer" and keep going. She enjoys being recognized, but is not hassled. Her dad says "who was that", she says "some guy I went to school with" and the whole thing is over.
