The girls who shoot features may or may not actually be better but they often appear to be better because the features require the girl to stick to the script, deliver lines and actually try and act moreso than a gonzo girl. A gonzo girl I assume is mostly ad-libbing with not as much direction. A gonzo girl typically doesn't have to "act" as much as a feature girl so less effort is probably put into their performances. It's unfair to judge all of the girls in porn acting abilities in general blanket statements. There may be girls with the potential to be great actresses but they'll never reach their potential because many of the directors in porn aren't all that great when it comes to directing the non porn aspects of a movie. Many of them are just happy the sound is audible and take whatever acting comes out on the first take. Many of the girls are thrown a "script" to learn when and only get to go over it while they're getting their hair done. While it's fun to point and say porn girls can't act the truth is that many of them if they were given a real director, with enough time to practice and go over the script with with the cast a few times, were actually cast properly, on a movie with a sizable budget and were given multiple takes (like most real actors )they'd do just as well as many big names in Hollywood right now. No, most of them probably won't be able to carry a movie or handle dramatic scenes but they'd be able to put in a decent performance that wouldn't stick out as horrble. I think quite a few of them would be able to appear in mainstream movies under the right conditions. They wouldn't give Nicole Kidman or Diane Lane a run for their money but they'd probably do no worse than many of the 20-30 year olds acting in big budget popcorn movies today.

I didn't say or even think porn has great actresses at the present but who's to say that with proper directing and practice and guidance some couldn't be as good as say...Megan Fox, Jessica Alba, Hillary Duff or any of the many actresses in Hollywood who only work because of their looks?There's no need because you don't need to to be in porn. I would add Tera Patrick to the list--I liked her performances in Reign Of Tera 1 & 2. Ebony Ayes was a decent actress--if Queen Latifia can have a TV/movie career, I don't see why Ebony couldn't have had one if she wanted one. I also think Vanessa Del Rio is a good actress, and could have had a mainstream career as well. Taylor Wane has potential for a mainstream career, as I think this YouTube clip demonstrates. But speaking for myself, I hope she stays in porn. In a perfect world, porn would not be seen as a stigma, or as an impediment to a mainstream show business career. This whole conversation is premised on the assumption that the girls aren't acting during their sex scenes.
