Those of us fans who have seen the halos in numerous PXP films brought the subject up, not because we want to see PXP as a business fail, but because we've been frustrated when viewing a film, having been constantly annoyed by visual artifacts. It's doubly frustrating when the action is hot, and you want to see some of your favorite performers presented well. For anyone's info, a number of fans started talking about this problem back in Dec. 2003, it's been going on that long.
This whole issue has nothing to do with a personnel vendetta against Jewel. It has to do with customers who pay money to watch DVD's, who want to see the action without digital distractions.
Jewel, or any of the other co-owners of PXP, can choose to handle this customer issue any way they want to; they're a business, after all. They can do something about it, to get at the root of the problem, or not; it's their choice. The fact that it's been going on so long, has meant that quite a few viewers have now seen it. More importantly, the halo issue has been mentioned in numerous recent DVD reviews, which are read by far more fans than read this message board.
It's like any business - customers who pay money for a product, are entitled to voice their opinion of it. I'm not certain at this point whether it's better to do this voicing via a message board, a DVD review, or privately by email, but there's nothing inherently wrong with this. It's capitalism at its finest.
This notion that somehow by not posting on ADT will result in a sales drop is such an idiotic notion that I won't even comment on it.
The only reason I post is to fuck around and add opinions. Occasionally, I'll post a trailer or some news but I'm usually doing it for two reasons:
(1) I want some people in the industry to know (not sales related). (2) I don't mind some feedback.
Does my postings have a positive or negative affect on business? Nope.
There are some bullshit companies here that post religiously their press releses and they sell shit. 800-1200 pieces at cut rate prices. Yet, by their posting, you'd think their the toppermost of the poppermost and nothing they post on ADT would make one iota of a difference.
I'm not trying to denigrate ADT. Not by a longshot. The only thing is we all have to understand that industry people come onto this board to have a healthy discussion. About movies, about people, about technique. Whether Jewel posts here or not, won't mean shit on her sales, nor mine, nor Jules, nor ...

We all have rights, and we all have personalities. The point I tried to make is as a person in the public eye it pays to stay level headed. If I log on to ADT and act a fool, it will be forgoten by the end of the day. If a person at Jewels level does it, it will become example for weeks to come.
There is a difference between being stupid, and soing something stupid. A couple of people spoke out of turn, and now this thread has become skewed. I don't have issues with Jewel. Thick skinned or not, her responce lacked the intelligence that got her where she is today. I have spoken with others at Platinum X, and they take much pride in their product.
If I work you into a tizzy, and stay level headed when the police show up, sho do you think they are going to remove from the situation?
To me pornis very much like high school. You got the popular people, the beautiful people, the rich people, and all the back stabbing, cliques, and games that go along with it.
When it comes to behaving, I'd take Kobe over Dennis Rodman any day. Dennis' antiics have made him a clown, and a has been. Lobe, although his actions are not what most would consider smart, has kept the media off his back by handling business, and keeping his nose clean. He's a complete ass for getting Phil and Shaq fired, but at least he had the sense to do it behind closed doors.
If Jewel is thin skinned and conducts herself in the day to day business world as she has recently on this board she better get some thick skin. Running in the face of a petty argument and getting overly agitated by the word "clueless" will get her overrun in any business and especially porn production by the shady tales I've read about right here on this board. Surely some of them must be true.
She may well have had a great career on screen before her appearance here as a producer/director, but using your vagina in front of the camera I dare say is easier than using your mouth and mind behind the camera.
I really hope Jewel does not leave. She has made an oustanding contribution to the forum and to say that she just posts to promote her movies is bullshit. Lately some people on here have been totally out of order. Why should people in the industry come here and have to defend themselves from attacks and stupid comments. Why should Jenna have to defend herself and her husband? Why should Erik Everhard have to defend himself when people say he raped someone? Katja i thinks was also saying she has been upset by things she's read on here lately.It's just not on. Just because you own a video with them in doesn't been you can attack them, especially when you do not even know them and are hiding behind a computer. If i were them i would just think, why bother?, they don't need it. If this carries on ADT is going to be left with just fans talking about stars that are actually to put off to visit anymore. But also i think alot of the problems are to do with not being able to express what your saying over the net with just text. The person reading does not know how you said something, in what tone- just what's typed.
I'm sure nobody enjoys being repeatedly called ignorant. The rest of the stuff by Bill was not a cool, calm way of pointing out where he narrowed the problem down to and how he thought the situation should be handled.
When you put your effort into something, it is hard enough to see it flawed.
As for sales, I'm sure most renters/buyers will do what they have always done - go by the girl on the cover.
A bunch of people seem to have some issues here. If a person chooses to leave, they will do so. No need to feel bitter about it.
I think this thread has gone on long enough and it really doesn't promote anything positive about the industry and I love what these ladies do, it's such hard work and unless you see it in person you can't really grasp how hard it is to try and give the best performance you can. I would rather read discussion about whether or not you think they have met that energy level you want rather than some aspect of their personal life. So I'm closing this thread and it might get reopened by someone else but I don't see why so we can further post negative comments. ADT is such a great site, really unique in that you have such participation from those who actually make the product and I hope that will continue to flourish as it has these last couple of years!!
