I'd say things have improved a lot since 2004, at least in terms of gonzo, when this thread was stared. Sam No (aka Mason), Juan Cuba, William H, Kimberly Kane and (on the rougher end) Jake Malone are all producing porn that is head and shoulders above what was being produced only a few years ago.
It still exists.Tends to be human nature to look down on someone in order to feel better about yourself. I would think it's even more pronounced in individuals whose careers aren't morally acceptable to a lot of the country.
I agree, but reading this thread depressed me nonetheless. I sometimes have to ask myself whether I'm seeing the bigger picture. I watch a pretty diverse selection of movies/studios, but the industry is so huge, I sometimes wonder if I'm watching porn with blinkers on, holding out hope for the industry because I believe in it. Meanwhile, the majority of product is degrading and has "contempt" not only for the audience, but (more importantly) for the performers. I don't want to believe this, and certainly I think there is hope, but I only spend cash on tried and true studios/directors.
Using porn to get off is as natural as using a car to drive to point A to point B. That's to say it isn't exactly natural but it's better than the alternative. There are many men (And probably women) beating off to porn who would have no sex lives without it.
