I'm just wondering if it possible. I would prefer that change but I guess some might disagree with me. I guess some code would have to be changed so that the edit message is not part of the post itself for it not to be quoted.  [Link] |

Instead of a quote being a reference to an existing post it's a free-form copy/snapshot of the text in the post (which can be edited by the person making the new post). Other (better) forum software will handle quotes as a reference to an existing post. If I did it as a reference then it makes additional processing easier to accomplish. This is not a trivial amount of programming to tackle it.  [Link] |
