You put too many questions :), I just have one answer. The dressing style in the video and audio should have some matching :) or feel bit of disconnection when watching it .If in a movie someone shows a tribal people wearing nice coat pant with a tie in a jungle, riding on elephant ,doing fishing on a boat and talking in fluent English , how funny that will sound :) .

I think I understand at least basically what he means. He saw her in some photoshoot/scene where she is in traditional looking Indian garb but since she spoke like an American he wasn't fully convinced she was Indian.
Not totally unreasonable considering there is quite a bit of the putting any girl who is even remotely darker skinned, latina girls quite often but they can be just about anything, in the clothes and labeling her as Indian.
Those girls wouldn't be widely known by an Indian name though so her being widely known as Priya Rai should have been a give away. She is an American of Indian ancestry, pretty much all you need to know.
