Noticed this when using the "Next Topic/Previous Topic" in WN&N:
"Adieu, Patrice Chéreau" is rendered as "Adieu, Patrice Ch reau".
Also, it is rendered incorrectly in 'Preview mode', as a small block containing the following letters:
FF
FD

There's some code that strips most extended chars. I never went through the process of updating the code to support the UTF8 character set. We started on an old version of MSSQL way back when it didn't support non-ascii text characters. So that baggage is still there.

I haven't used Structured Query Language in effing forever.
As for assembly, I'm not sure anybody cares anymore. If they want it to go faster they just throw more hardware at it.

FWIW, i spent a few hours today looking into this issue and have a plan for addressing it. I just need to spend a little time looking into SQL injection issues in handling a different character set.
