The publicity machine for Paul Thomas's remake of Debbie Does Dallas has kicked into full gear this week. The website is up and Showtime has started airing the reality show documenting its production. Based on the trailer and cast this looks like a can't miss. I really like the idea of Penny Flame as the Devil and Savanna Samson reprising her Ms. Jones role from the NDMJ.
My only hesitation is that the editing of sex scenes in recent PT directed movies have a manic, disjointed and jumply quality which I find hard to follow and disatisfying.
The question I have for ADTer's is which PT are we going to get:
The story teller who is equally interested in the chorography, the photography and editing of the sex scenes? Or the self-important story teller who views the sex scenes as a perfunctory annoyance that must raced through in order to get to a proper resolution of the plot?
Did you watch the first episode of the Showtime series showing the making of the movie? They're premiering it over the weekend.
You should see if that tells you which PT you'll be getting.

And thankfully the credits don't in any way list any writers for the show, just one story editor. I'm thinking what we'll see is just how the girls are. Which makes it more fun.

It's getting to the point to where remakes of Debbie Does Dallas are becoming the porn version of Groundhog Day. Do we really need this film remade every other year?
Looks like a cool flick, (you can never have enough cheerleader flicks IMHO), with a great cast, especially the Divine Miss Flame, looking hot as ever!!

Just saw episode 2 of the Showtime documentary series. It's great! This has all the elements of a magnificently melodramatic reality show like The Real World or The Apprentice, only it's about the making of a porn movie! I can't wait for shit to hit the fan between Eon McKai and Paul Thomas...
I saw the trailer in "Burnt Fury", a recent Vivid release. It looks entertaining, with great production values, although some of the comedic effects are drawn out. The trailer was too long, btw. It was like I had already seen the movie.

Penny has only been seen for a few quick moments on screen, no dialogue yet.
Savanna was upset that Steve Hirsh of Vivid asked her to play the role of Debbie's mother. He goes to see her face to face while she is on a set to try and see where her head is at, and she almost breaks down into tears because she doesn't want to be seen as an older woman.
It's a parody of buddy cops TV shows from the 80's (with matching music !). It is really entertaining and funny, so far. I guiltily admit I've popped one after the third scene, so I haven't watched it entirely yet. Lanny has a threesome in a blonde wig with Jay Huntington and another guy, she looks super hot as a blonde and the scene is scorching. Later on, she has another scene with Tommy Gunn, this time as a brunette, and this is the one I popped it to, so it's good. Judging from the BTS, she also has a g/g w. Hilary Scott, but as I said I still haven't watched all the movie. I'm working on a full review for ADT, but given what a slow writer I am, I thought I'd give you a quick rundown. If you like being entertained by a goofy storyline in b/w hot sex scenes, you'll be delighted. And with 3 Lanny scenes, you can't miss.

A few observations....I like the show, but the movie itself looks terrible. Stefani is delusional if she thinks she is going to make it big in mainstream. Not even Jenna has attained that respectability fully (although she is mega rich, so you decide) Sunny's 'tude cements the reason I do not and will never buy g/g only films. I have no desire to put 1 penny in her pocket; it’s not what she said but how she said it. Tone is everything. I did come out a bigger fan of Savanna, Monique and Cassidy though.

Thanks for the insight into DDA. Savanna, Monique and Cassidy are older and more experienced than the other girls and that might explain why they come off so much better. FYI...Stepahnie, Monique & Savanna are 3 names that have been really hot on the retirement rumor mill. Have any dropped retirement hints on the showtime program?
Savanna has even started using her 'real' name on her official porn website--so that's probably a done deal. This could be one of her final performances. Phatbasey has some reservations about this one but I sure hope that Savanna sex scene(s) don't disappoint.
No one's been talking bout any retirements on the show. Based on events happening on the show (Tiffany Taylor's car accident)Showtime filmed this stuff like well over a year ago and they're showing it now because the movie will be out this month so what they may be thinking now wouldn't be refrenced.
Other thoughts while watching the last 2 episodes:
Well we know they should be releasing a Monique's been Blackmaled movie soon I would think. That's got to be the scene they were filming on last night's show. Either that or she's just doing IR in some other film at some other point. But there's no visual proof! :-)
Hmmmm nice pics of Steve Hirsch's daughter (I would presume) on his desk. Anyone know where pictures of his son are? Or is he still denying him? (LOL and the fact that Jason Curious brought up some of the same comments on his show this weekend is complete irony to me.)
Very funny to see PT asking Stefani Morgan bout the guy she's dating in her personal life and her going "can't say anything, the camera's there." Considering at that time she seemed to be name dropping Tommy Lee (if it is him) every article she was in (or the interviewer brought it up) I find it funny that she'd try to not say anything there.
By the same token, the egos that some of these girls are showcasing is hysterical. Certainly Stefani's is being showcased the most (and I have to admit, Monique seems to really have the right head on her shoulders for this business) and if she really thinks this can give her mainstream potential, its just not going to happen. Heck if the stories about Jenna are true with her surgery, she's letting all her oppurtunities dissapear all right now and others won't get the same chance.
PT's let his "I'm a serious movie director" attitude rot his brain cells. :-)
Eon McKai still looks like the last person I'd ever see being the spokesperson for alt porn. Though I have to admit I'm very curious to see his Debbie movie, specially if Cassidy does star in it.
And how bout the apparent deviousness of her? There's a brain there and I like it!
Well, it is what , the fifth show of the series? I was curious and did a google blog search of the words Debbie Does Dallas Again and have found no internet chatter about the show. So, if in fact Vividspent three hundred grand making this epic as Steve Hirsch claims in the show, will it all be worth it?
My favorite part of the series was when Steven found out that Paul had not cast Debbie yet. He clicks on his intercom and says: "Get Me P.T. - -NOW!!!" This whole scene seemed like a little boy playing the business man for the camera. Did not buy it for a minute. P.T. has been the in house director for VIvid for years.
And one interesting anecdote-- with the recent appearance of Jesus lover Heather Veitch on Primetime Live--in the first episode of this series, when PT goes to erotica L.A. to find some possible cheerleaders for this movie, one of the girls who tries out is Heather Veitch. I wonder if this was shot before her conversion .
i couldn't agree more. but you still didn't experience the making of this project. i did. and we filmed a good part of it months after wrap, to "redo reality". but i'm sure you are right.
i couldn't have said it better myself. in all honesty, the stuff that was actually going on during the making was much more interesting, so you can imagine the frustrations during the filming. :) and thanks for answering the prior question. i giggled, i can be too sarcastic, i knew whatever came out would have sounded completely wrong :P

I'd encourage people to do a search and listen to Skronk's Savanna Samson podcast from last year. She enrolled in acting classes to prepare for a Showtime Reality program based on her life (which to my knowledge has yet to air). But the question is: Why do you need to take acting lessons to do a reality TV show?
Also Savanna's story line in DDA about being too old to play Debbie was recycled from the movie 'Flasher.' PT wanted Savanna to play a mom. She got her way on this one and was cast as the daughter and the mother role went to Cara Lott. Should we chalk that one up to Deja Vu?
'Reality' programming should to be taken with a grain of salt. It's always more fiction that fact. And I'm not just talking about DDA but everything from MTV's Real World to the Evening News to the History Channel.

Wait, smorgan, are you REALLY Stefani Morgan? If so, how do you respond to people, even people on this thread, that say you are "delusional" if you think you can cross over from porn to mainstream?
Personally, I think it can be done if it's the right person and she has true acting skills. Hollywood is not run by neo-conservative christians, and I don't think that having done X-rated stuff will get you blacklisted from doing mainstream stuff. In fact, Sylvestor Stallone got his start in acting in a porn movie.
yes, it is. and no i never said i want to get into porn to get into mainstream. all of those conversations are taken out of another conversation. that's what they do, it's actually amazing what they can create. i always said it would be awesome, no one has done it. but that was never my goal. why would i start in mainstream, then go to porn to cross into mainstream? i was bored and irritated in mainstream...a lot of you talk without doing your homework, naughty naughty! you have to understand, it's entertainment, and with a show featuring so many people with important parts, you need to give roles to keep the show on a path that makes sense in some way. there's parts you will like, and there are parts you will wanna scream at the crew, and the people behind it all. you're on camera, you gotta mic, there are hidden mics. anything you say can be altered, you kinda become a puppet.
I think the reason most of us (myself included) probably took more of this seriously is because when you look at most reality shows, the credits list the "story editors" as well as the "writers". Sure signs at how either actually scripted or spliced together the show is.
I actually didn't see either of those in the credits for this series. Hollywood got smarter and doesn't list them at all or that way anymore so I took what I saw as a more "real" value then most other shows.
If you saw the credits for when Showtime had Family Business (and someone please explain to me why Showtime is doing this series and not Seymore's if the rumored reason they cancelled his show is fear of 2257?) they always listed writers and story editors. And you could just tell the stuff was scripted, specially with Stevie.
To the credit of you guys, I can't tell that's actualyy fake, which just gives more credo to the idea that porn actors and actresses sure as hell can work in the mainstream!

Ms. Morgan welcome back to ADT! And thanks for the insights into DDA. It reads like they created a totalitarian environment. It's not so different from an asylum where your watched 24/7 and someone else is really in control. No wonder why you wanted to scream!
thanks, ya i haven't been on this thing since december ish? i actually had to make a new name! lol no, the making was not quite THAT bad. i mean everything happened at it's own place and time. good god, you would've had some amazing hissy fits out of me othertwise! haha although there probably are...i haven't watched it really.
oh and thank you xeno...that was a nice compliment you gave us girls.

no i am not. i have a lot of issues with how vivid has portrayed me, and somethings that really hurt me. in the end, i felt it is about making a quick buck. i felt the movies aren't great because it's not about quality...i mean, we didn't exactly sweep avn this year. and it's about getting the girl known as soon as possible so they can profit. lol good god, let things happen as they should! i do care about my image when it comes to my fans, and i extremely care about my longevity. it just wasn't working for me, i hoped it would. being the lil devil that i am i found a way to stop it. my contract is kinda "paused" so if i want to go back i go to vivid. i love it and miss it. i just was getting more and more depressed. so since things weren't changing, i changed it.

Well I hope it works out for you. I think alot of companies have been putting out alot of crap movies lately. As a fan I would hope they would take pride in their work and not release something just for the sake of putting a girls name on a boxcover. Ive been watching the show on showtime and Im not sure how much is fact or fiction but it looks like the whole Debbi Loves Dallas movie was done on the fly and not planned out much. I think Ill wait to see what people are saying about it before Ill buy it

Well Vivid's certainly been being accused of treating the talent like pieces of meat quite a lot in recent years. The whole subject of Nina Mercedez leaving them has certainly become something of a touchy subject.
I think the way Hirsch has been promoting the Kardashian tape also has been somewhat sleazy as well (not just in how they looped everything over and over. And also, Corolla interview notwithstanding).
But whatever you need to do to feel better Stefani is the important thing. Your health and well being is far the more important thing. You definitely sound like whether or not you stay with Vivid, you're not leaving the industry so that's always glad for those of us to hear.
All this keeps up and the stories keep slowly coming out, I get the feeling there's going to be a MASS defection to Wicked one of these years.
i'm still locked into contract. so no..i'm not really still in, i am off the radar, i just cared about the debbie project, and to be honest...it's nice to voice my say in things that have eaten me up over time. and you can't point fingers at steven, he's a good guy. everyone seems to pick on him alot in this forum lately. i have nothing bad to say about the guy, and i have been pretty hurt or bitter at times , so you all just shut it. i just think the company has lost sight of the important things over time, the basics...those things have a big impact overall. it's so irritating to see that kinda stuff. it's so hard always being right, good lord lol
ew, ew, ew..lol...i am pretty sure, at some point, we all kinda lost it there. when i was in the coffin, i tried to stay completely still while everyone got in place, and some of the girls leaned over and were all , "omg, this is so weird, don't do that!" morbid sense of humor i guess :P i don't remember the name of the place, it was downtown. really old, we did all acting scenes during the day, and then all sex scenes were at night when it was closed. we had a permit, though. all day long with civilians...good luck pulling it off without one! :)

um, no i stopped and focused on vivid. i ditched all of it in the beginning, and if i felt the desire to branch out i would. um i actually got an agent right after me saying i wanted to leave. i did one job, and was so annoyed. i hate l.a., i really do. i quickly forgot how much i disliked modeling. everyone just is lost, and trying to one up each other. i stopped immediately haha. i'm still not pursuing mainstream. um i'm a lone wolf, i honestly don't talk to too many people. i haven't really conversed with anyone at vivid since avn. cassidey and i just started talking recently.
Well, if you don't get back in it, you'll be missed. You have a unique, natural beauty that, in my opinion, is a rare phenomenon in film, adult or otherwise in 2007.
Are you and Cassidey friends? Is she still working in the business? I'm asking based on the "reality" show in which you guys didn't seem to associate and she was talking about getting out.
Fortunately and unfortunately, she has to believe that in order to have any hope to make it a reality. I think porn fans could help.I have to agree with you there, all the people who think porn is so mainstream point to Jenna. They forget how much she gets dissed on mainstream boards(YOUTUBE) and she only does mainstream sex. It is not like Jenna is doing 100 men gangbangs, ATMS, cumswapping, throat fucking, or even anal. Could you imagine if some of our more kinkier superstars attempts to go mainstream? Bottom line: We got a fucking long way to go.
