My question is, how do the blatant and obvious offenders on the Internet get away with it? Why do they get away with it? The ones I'm referring to as "obvious offenders", are all these tons upon tons of streaming user-based "tube" sites that allow anonymous Interrs to upload pretty much anything they want. The bulk of what is posted to these sites is copyrighted material, not the "amateur" content they are supposed to be. A lot a law breaking going on there. Take for example, one of the most popular, "XVideos", the site has pretty much anything you'd want to watch on it. So much so that it pretty much makes the idea of buying porn seem like a complete waste of time and money. I don't support these sites at all, in fact, I can't stand them. I am anti-free porn for everyone. Pirates used to dwell in their basements wracking their little brains to steal shit, now they type in a web address, post your work for free to everyone as if it were their own, and you loose money. But my question really, is how and why do all these sites get away with this? Websites like YouTube at least make a decent attempt to crack down on copyright infringements and movie piracy. Other mass piracy sites that give away music like it's nothing get taken by the feds pretty regularly. Are all these porn tube sites exempt from the law? Does no one care anymore? What can be done about this? Is there anything in the works as far as dealing with this? I'm really curious. Edited by - echoplex on Jun 19 2010 [Link] |

If, after doing so, you still have questions, posting in that first thread is probably the best thing to do. |
