Why are his movies so hard to find, and on top of that, so expensive? I just ordered a DVD off his official site that cost $60!!! Am I getting ripped off or what? I tried looking for some US online but could not find. Any comments?

Every movie he makes has to be submitted to the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) for rating , which carries a flat £1000 fee . Added to that he uses some of the most beautiful girls in his movies , who I'd guess are more expensive to book than most porn stars . When you add it all together he's making a more expensive product than most American gonzo , and of a much higher quality than most British . Personally I think his stuff's great !

BTW , if you do a search of the forums you should find some cheaper places to buy his movies . LezLove and SimplyTheBestDVD for example .

Actually the BBFC does not charge a flat rate but a per minute rate and if you have to resubmit it you pay again, this can literally add thousands to the cost of the movie. And with the current low dollar all European porn will be expensive for the US customers.

I stand corrected ! But the figure of £1000 is one I remember Viv Thomas himself quoting as the amount he budgets for the BBFC when starting a new project .

current exchange rate - £1 : $1.8874

Since Viv has quite some experience he will probably always manage to get his movies approved in one go, he is not trying to push the limits on R18. We submitted one of our movies once and over half would have to be cut, so we just forgot about it.
