The American musician confused the German wer with the English where, and he cried out "Wer ist mein Autobus?! Wer ist mein Autobus?!" Sadly, I don't remember how to speak Deutsch much better than that myself. That's one subject that I was never a good student in. [Link]

Steve has discussed his nationality, but I already recalled some banter in Euro Angels Hardball where he and Christoph Clark mentioned it. So I always think of him as German.
