Try thinking about it in terms of dollars. I think that it really doesn't matter to the producers one bit if a movie's name or anything to do with it has a racial connotation - they are going to go with whatever they feel is going to make them the most money.

We've done this one many times in many forms. I'm sure a search will turn up quite a bit of discussion on this topic.

I'll grant that individual porn producers or specific porn companies may have an agenda, but I think that porn is a generally bottom line industry. What sells will get made. What there's a market for will get made.

If there is racism inside the industry, is a question that would probably best be answered by people, (performers, directors, staff, etc.) inside it. And many HAVE spoken on this in the past.

There is no doubt that many of the themes of porn products speak to racial fears, stereotypes, and myths, or aim directly at cultural portrayals and taboos that many find negative or unsettling. While some may find it offensive, I don't know that that necesasarally constitutes racism.

Racism is everywhere. I think the porn industry tolerates it more than any other business, and has never faced any negative consequences because of it. Imagine if any of us non porn folks went to our jobs and announced that we refuse to work with a co-worker because they were a different race and gave no other reason. In the real world, you'd probably lose your job.

However, in porn it's considered normal to make such statements. In fact you'll have lots people jumping at the chance to defend your "preferences". You can call it racism, discrimination, preferences, or whatever, but if you live in America, you know the deal. Juha - I'd actually disagree with you there. In porn these days, pretty much everything is a "special fetish category". Many of the DVDs I've reviewed recently have featured scenes that were not sold as "B&W/interracial" yet in DP scenes they featured one dark guy and one light guy with no attention paid to the fact. ~ sometimes it's pointed out for niche marketing, sometimes it's not.

The white male having access to women of different nationalities(ie: black, Asian, Hispanic, Polynesian etc). Usually the term for this is the word "exotic".
