I saw a couple of Canhescore dvds from bangbros recently, i found them interesting but lame and lacking in intensity, if it was upto me, i would have turned it into a dating contest - Two pornstars go on a fuck-date with an average guy (who has $500 in his wallet), the guy spends some time with the girls talking, then fucks them both and in the end rewards only "one" pornstar who has impressed him the most with $500. Do you think it's possible to successfully make a reality show type porn series?
I don't think many porn viewers have the patience to wait for the sex to start in a porn movie. They want to see the sexy lady lose her clothing right away. And they want to see the horny guy go for the suck and fuck with her without delay. Any kind of realistic talk between the lady and the guy needs to be done during their fuck. Or else this film is going to suck, as far as the viewer is concerned. Perhaps some realism can be introduced in the porn movie during the fuck. The sexy lady will say to the guy that she owes him a big favor in some way and that he is welcome to fuck her just the way he wants. And then she would ask him once in while during their fuck, what does he want her to do? How does he want her to please him? And the guy, of course, would take full advantage of the lady's willingness to please him and ride her nice ass a lot in various positions, or something like that. Anal sex is more special than pussy-sex is. Because even in porn, many ladies refuse to have anal sex with their horny guys. It makes sense for a horny guy to ask for anal sex with the pretty lady, when she wants to do a special favor for him. Because it's not the kind of thing the pretty lady would do with any guy, especially if she happens to be an anal virgin, which many sexy ladies certainly are, even in porn. It wouldn't stand a chance. I watched a porn film recently where nothing happened for 20 minutes, all frivolous chatter outdoors and filming inside a van. I found it annoying to wait so long for the hardcore to begin. Most viewers of porn would not have the patience for chatter and the social interactions that take place in a reality show. They would avoid the product.
there is a real porn reality series from 2000 i believe, on the BBC called Porno Valley its all about Vivid video, follows their idiot owner, stars and directors around, goes to casting calls, on the set etc i find it quite interesting actually tho i would never watch a Vivid movie again after seeing it, not that i did much anyway

If you're going to apply a real-time standard to adult DVDs, then what you need to do is have the DVD start immediately with the sex. Don't even bother with a title or opening credits. This will satisfy the apparently uncontrollable lust of the average viewer. After the first scene, the DVD automatically switches to 20-30 minutes of either a burning fire log or fish in an aquarium (the time could be fine tuned to accomodate the viewer's particular post ejaculatory erectile dysfunction). After that, the DVD automatically alternates scene, burning log, scene, fish in the tank, etc. All DVDs in this series would end with a customized audio voice over the ending credits of the viewer's wife saying "Okay pervert, pull your pants back up and make yourself useful. Might I suggest mowing the lawn for a change? That's right. Good boy."
Sex is always the main theme of any porn movie. Or else it's not a porn movie but something else. And when sex is the main theme, then sex has to be included in everything the movie shows. It's okay to show fishing in a porn movie, for example. But to make it a porn movie and not a fishing movie, you need to show a sexy lady sucking on the fisherman's cock, while he is fishing. And that's how it is with anything else the porn movie shows. Sex has to be a part of everything the movie shows, or else the movie stops being a porn movie.
^I think the importance of sex is of overrated. Or, conversely, the importance of the non-sex portions is underrated. Of course most viewers buy/rent/download porn to see the sex. But some viewers (like me) watch porn to see the women, and the sex is just a part of it. It seems most directors have a "It's only about the sex" attitude. Which gives them permission to be half-assed about the non-sex portions of the scene. So for example in the opening tease, or the interview, if nobody cares because it's non-sex, then the cameraman thinks is OK to lock the camera on the woman's head for 10 minutes while he "interviews" her. Or its OK to lock the camera to the woman's butt and/or allow the editor to make a jarring hectic mix of the opening tease with cuts every 5 seconds.
Showtime did the same thing with Vivid like 3yrs ago where there followed them around when they tried to make a Deep Throat remake the people that run Vivid are jerks
The French porn channel, Libido-TV, has a hardcore reality show called Tournike. There's one season of four episodes out and a second coming pretty soon. I've seen the first two episodes, which can be found by the usual sorts of means that can't be discussed in specific detail here. (If I knew of an entirely above-board way to get hold of them outside France, I'd (a) mention it here and (b) have used it myself by now). My opinion was that they alternated between silly and actually pretty damn hot, but contrary to the opinions of some here, certainly not boring. Of course, what I think is boring about most porn is actually most of the sex... not all of it, obviously, or there'd be no point in watching it, much less reading and occasionally posting here, but the majority of scenes could be cut by 60% or more and be better for it. The standards of editing in this industry are VERY low.

I think it could be done. You just show a porn scene from each of the girls at the start as background. Then 20 minutes or so of Q&A and then a couple of awkward dates ending with a couple of more sex scenes. I think you could do a pretty good version of the Bachelor where some average Joe spends a week with 20 or so porn stars but must choose just three to go to dinner and get a blow job from, and then just one for a spectacular fuck under a waterfall in Hawaii or on the deck of a luxury yacht off the French Riviera.
