I'm really glad I took a chance on this one.

First thing first, no sex ads in this Vivid DVD. Straight to the menu ! I haven't explored everything yet, but there are no bonus clips, probably to accomodate the movie itself, which is 2 hrs + and to respect the fabulous videography.

Then, the movie itself. The back cover blurb presents it as story-driven, but it's really more vignettes, with a 50's sexploitation theme. The opening g/g (Kimberly Kane vs. Nadia Styles) is half-an-hour long, and the best I've seen this year (and I'm gay). Kim is totally driven and dominates Nadia with class and inventivity. Scene 2 is a DP b/w a hungry brunette, Barry Scott and a slim guy. Some erection problems here & there, but otherwise utterly fantastic. There's an impressively photographed bondage interlude with Masuimi Max, then on to Playboy-like Angie Savage and her husband in a trailer park and it ends with Tyler Knight doing Page Morgan and another girl in another 30-minutes festival of positions. It stays highly entertaining & sexually charged throughout. The style is unique, it's no Pasolini, it's no Gregory dark, it's no ChiChi LaRue it's totally unique and it renewed my faith in porn. Highly recommended.

I second that. and I'm straight. So I was more into Lexi Bardot than Barry, but it's all good.

I'm glad to hear it's hot. I just bought it. I have to say something else, movie aside. I LOVE the packaging for this movie. It's really cool. I think Vivid Alt might actually have a lot of promise. And Skater Girl looks kind of interesting to.

Yes, beautiful slim packaging in laqué cardboard (excuse my English) with inside art. I loved it too.

I thought that it was an excellent movie. And it is about time that vivid cut the ads out before the menu(God was that annoying!). And I just recieved Skater Girl Fever today and I agree that vivid may be onto the right track here. But the packaging is very slick and gorgeous. From what I remember from a post from eon mckai, all of vivid-alt dvd's will be three disc releases and will have the same nice packaging starting with the release of Girls Lie in September.

If it's better than some of the Hustler stuff labeled "alt," then it sounds promising.

Did you guy's think I was too goofy, and over the top in my scene? Did my silly character take away, from, or add to the sex at all? Just curious...

No, your scene was brilliant and one of the hottest. I like over-the-top and save for Angie Savage's segment, all the scenes in this movie were just the right amount of over-the-top. Always fun, never humiliating.

Yeah, I give credit to the director, for trusting his performers. My scene was the direct result of that. He let me do whatever I wanted, and I had a blast.

Whenever modern porn attempts a "period piece" (victorian era, 50's 60's etc.) it fails in the sense that while it may get some "period" details correct, the tattoos, piercings, and silicone usually drag it back into the present day and takes the viewer "out of the moment" and back into plastic porno land.

say what? so you're saying then that you don't buy the Rebelle Rousers as an authentic representation of the '50s? okay.

i dont really think its trying to sell you on actually being in a different time. there are people in this world that are involved in this subculture that dress up like pin up or rockabilly everyday.

i used to be all rockabilly in the 90s. ;)

It is. Like seriously night and day better. Probably the first title in this little sub-genre that's risen above said sub-genre's hype. But I love Rockabilly so may just be biased...
