Is this director still in the business ? I really liked "Body Talk" & "Hearts & Minds" from New Sensations, but I guess they let him go when they dropped features. I see from his credits on ADE that he's made a handful of movies for Wicked, but only 17 titles since he started ? Shouldn't VCA sign him ? I mean, come on... Here we have a porn director with style & talent and nobody hires him ?

He did some great films for Wicked as well as his work for Digital Sin. It's too bad that he doesn't seem to be working these days as he made some enjoyable features and I'd love to see more of his work. My favorite films from him so far are Roadblock (Wicked) and Sweetwater (Digital Sin).

I've seen his name on gonzo stuff for Smash Pictures recently, though I haven't actually viewed any of those titles.

It seems like he's always been a guy who just did a movie here and a movie there. I don't know if this is correct, but somewhere I got the impression that he did mainstream-type work. Porn might just be a fill-in-the-gaps kind of job for him.

He is a great director. He works for several different companies, does a ton of his own editing, and he also has shot some MTV videos as well. Very nice guy and great to work for.

Thanks for the info, though I'm dismayed that Ezra has branched out into gonzo. I mean, ChiChi LaRue & Fred Lincoln do some okay films, but don't you think Vivid or VCA could benefit from some "inspired" directors ? But it's nice to know that he's talented enough to work for MTV and the likes. He'd be perfect for softcore & Playboy TV if you ask me.

Hi,

Red Ezra has done some outstanding work for us, including the AVN-nominated Fast Cars & Tiki Bars. Prior to shooting features for us, he was an invaluable asset here as a full-time editor and talented BTS shooter. While he hasn't shot a feature for us recently, he's still a regular team player on our productions, whether its as the art director for Jonathan Morgan's 2003 release The Assignment, or as the videographer for Michael Raven's upcoming release Exotics.

The last one I know of from Red Ezra was Impact from Metro a few months ago. The little I've seen of it was every bit as good as what I normally expect from him.

When man invented fire, he didn’t say, 'hey, let’s cook', he said, 'great, now we can see naked bottoms in the dark.' - Coupling

Red appears to still be directing for Metro / Cal Vista. I had a copy of The Getaway show up on my desk yesterday which lists him as director (with the lovely Kelly Erikson leading the cast).

I'll take a look at his Metro work. They have performers I'm interested in. Thanks for the tip. I just hope they list the directors on their website.

WooHoo! Great to hear that you're shooting with Red, Kelly, and great to have you on Adult DVD Talk!
