ExperimentalGuy, Have you seen an Adamo movie before? I've posted this before, Seems as though people either love him or hate him. He always has gorgeous women and hard sex (Anal/DPs). But not what I would consider hardcore and the movies have the glossy/slow motion thing going on sometimes and he’ll even go from color to black and white. I’d recommend grabbing Italian Flair. It's his first, probably most popular and cheap (Can be had for about $15.00)
Ah, to the orignal question: You can get an impression how Gladiator looks here and Cleopatra here (nächste Seite = next page). I have only seen the first and wasn't that impressed (but I have to confess that I don't watch those "historical" Hollywood movies either), didn't watch the second because I don't like wigs though I'm thinking about watching Cleopatra #2 because the Laura Angel scene looks good.

Planet Sex was supposedly directed by Anita Rinaldi but could it be Adamo's first movie? He was instrumental in the direction and you can find all the Adamo trademarks in it...
I wrote a review of Cleopatra 1. Suffice it to say, it wasn't my cup of tea. Although the video quality was great, and the women beautifully coiffed and made-up, I just thought it lacked any heat. The actresses were mugging a bit much for the camera (I assume the director told them to do so), the sex seemed too mechanical, and the interaction between the performers wasn't really there.
The awful dubbing into English didn't help much. I watched some of the dubbed Italian version, and that didn't seem as bad when I couldn't understand what people were saying.
The only scene I found interesting was a non-sex one. They show Robert Rosenberg using a tweezers to extract a sample of DNA from a mummy. This guy could have been a surgeon - he was so careful, and so attentive; he didn't hack away at the body in the least bit.

I liked Gladiator better but even that wasn't all that good. I liked the idea and the dubbing wasn't any worse than any other private film but after seeing gladiator then watching the porn the porn sort of feels boring.
these are the type of films I would like to see more of out of the adult industry, but the audio dubbing NO THANKS. along with the fact that many reviews list "Gladiator" as a comedy too . packaging, and film quality, sound, everything else seems perfect, but the comedy factor could've been completely left out.
What's the point of Dolby 5.1 when the sound track is dubbed???
Because so many of their movies have been dubbed I haven't even looked at anything Private has released in years, apart from one movie mentioned in another thread.
I hate dubbing so much that if it says Private on the cover I just move along. I never even bother to check if any given title might have the original sound. I don't even care if I miss something good because of it. Dubbing is evil, and I hate the thought of giving money to a company that IMHO ruins their movies like that.
No. I'm not trying to scare anyone else off Private. Not my place. I'm just saying that I personally hate dubbing so much I don't give Private titles another glance, even though I know not all their titles are dubbed.
If you're interested in a title, you should check to see if you can find any info on the sound track. Silvia being a euro girl, there is a definite possibility that it will be dubbed, but I don't know.
