I think I'd like to check it out because Kylie Ireland's doing it. I know I won't because of how DVSX tried to sneak around behind everybody's back to put Mark Goldberg in a major role in adult entertainment again.

Hey there Astro -
Yes, they are correct, you are confusing it with Twisted as Fuck that I directed which comes out April 24th .
I did want to address the Mark Goldberg/Wallace issue though - I work there and am friends with the owners and I am also there often - to my knowledge Mark does not nor ever has worked for DVSX in any capacity. And believe me, I would know him if I saw him.
Where is this info coming from? As far as I know it is bullshit. I will look into it but I don't think it is true. I am not trying to start any fights here or anything but like I said, to my knowledge it's not true.
The last time I saw Mark Goldberg/Wallace it was about 6-7 years ago when he was briefly editing for VCA - I am pretty sure he just disappeared off the map.
i too, am curious as to where you got your "info." i'm also not trying to start any fights here... but perhaps you should consider knowing all the facts first so you don't go around libeling the wrong people.
nor is anyone from DVSX denying the release of Xtreme Measures. the issue i'm addressing here is astronight's judgement towards DVSX without even knowing the nature of how Xtreme Measures came to be.
Well, since it obviously exists, denying it would be stupid, wouldn't it? I must be missing your point, because if that's intended as a response to my post it appears to be a non sequitor.
Perhaps you should start at the beginning and confirm or deny that Mark Gold is, in fact, Marc Wallice.

I think that no matter how it came to be, it obviously is not fair to boycott everything DVSX because of ONE movie. Perhaps IF he was still working there or was a contract director that would be different. If it is Marc Goldberg/Wallice (and it is Marc with a C at the end) he is apparantly not directing for nor working for DVSX now.
And I certainly don't see anyone boycotting VCA product after Marc worked there as an editor. I believe many of you have watched/reviewed stuff from directors like Michael Ninn and Chloe to Wit Maverick and Joanna Angel.
Again, I don't know the circumstances but it may also have been a movie DVSX bought from another company. That does happen.
Now, I am not saying I agree with hiring him, if that was the case, but it does make me a bit sad that there are fans of mine and my work who aren't going to watch the product I put my heart and soul into because of something that may have happened that I didn't know about or something that happened before I was there. If that is the case - everyone should probably be boycotting every company for something.
The biggest thing there with my distaste from what I saw from DVSX is their apparently trying to cover it up. Yes, as Kylie pointed out, VCA and others have used him, and if I know he's involved with a project there's no way I'll review it. What makes DVSX different to me is they're trying to hide it, where VCA gave him credit and didn't appear to try to hide it. DVSX seems to pop up in almost every thread about them, and their silence in the aforementioned thread seemed to speak volumes. Those volumes seem to speak even louder when the responses to it here are "you don't know what's really going on" and what at first appears to be borderline denial. And sorry, Connie, but no, I don't have your e-mail where I would be able to contact you easily rather than going through DVSX webmasters, etc.
And yes, Kylie, it does sadden me to miss out on your movies because first, the brief moment I had to meet you a few years ago you seemed every bit the class act I had heard you were, and second, because I do believe you put that much care into your movies.

first of all, astro, stop saying that DVSX tried to cover up anything. i'm the only founder at the company who participates in this message forum and occasionally at best. so excuse me if i missed an entire thread. still haven't read it, btw. what would be the point now. i never would have even noticed this one if it wasn't pointed out to me.
second, how does putting the guy's name on the box equate covering it up?
third, my email is on this site, it's on dvsx, and you have a history of emailing me. but whatever, that's beside the point.
i'll get an official statement from the heads of the company which will explain everything to you, and once you read it, you might consider boycotting porn altogether, considering your logic on the matter.
until then, all you need to know is the bottom line, and that is that dvsx does not provide marc goldberg with a livelihood. and we are not sneaky bastards who maliciously tried to fool you into or out of believing anything regarding this matter.
my problem with you here, astro, is that you are accusing us of relaunching his career (laughable), and in the same breath accusing us of trying to cover it up (a matter of perception). how does that even make sense?
I can't speak for astroknight, but I can address a couple of points you raise:
i'm the only founder at the company who participates in this message forum and occasionally at best. so excuse me if i missed an entire thread.
But you used to participate regularly, so it shouldn't be a surprise that people expected you to know about it. Bear in mind the thread started in 2003.
still haven't read it, btw. what would be the point now.
The point would be to make sure you understand the issues your customers/potential customers may have. Right now, you're dealing with your issues instead.
second, how does putting the guy's name on the box equate covering it up?
DVSX did not put his name on the cover, unless he's had it legally changed to Mark Gold.
If you're not trying to cover anything up then why do these two things: change a name somebody many people have very strong feelings about and, according to said director in the AVN article, try keeping said person off the set when the movie was shot?
I'm sorry if you think that participating here makes you think you deserve special treatment. Just mentioning it with the attitude you're showing here seems to make you think you deserve it, but sorry, I see no reason to treat you different from others (and I apologize if the written word here is making me interpret things differently than what you intended). I do find it strange that a head of a company wouldn't care about reading an article which would make their customers turn away from them, no matter how old the article is.
As I said earlier, changing the name the person is known as and trying to keep them off the set would make it appear that the company was trying to keep things covered up.
And I'll readily admit that I didn't even check DVSX's website. It's commendable that you have your e-mail on your site, and I didn't check the site for one simple reason. Your site is the only adult site I know of where there's an e-mail to one of the head honchos rather than just to a webmaster. I won't deny that I've e-mailed you in the past. I've sent you what, 3 e-mails total and the most recent was maybe a year ago? Sorry, but I don't keep many e-mails around from people I've exchanged 3 e-mails with in that time.
Wallice is somebody who appears to have done plenty over the years in the background. I think I've pointed out how I think you were covering it up or misleading people enough already. As to relaunching (probably a much stronger word than I'd use) his career, when's the last time somebody let him direct a movie?
Although the thread might have been started in 2003, it was also revived at the end of Jan. this year once somebody connected the cast from Xtreme Measures with the cast mentioned in the AVN article...
"Vegetarianism for me is about saying ‘yes’ to things - even meat." - Coupling
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I think it's extremely lame for any porn studio to employ Mark Wallace in any capacity. His actions are unforgivable.
Out of all the people in the world DVSX could hire to direct a movie, why give the job to *him*? Ugh.
Have to agree. It's absolutely unfathomable that anyone would knowingly do this! I actually didn't know anything about this until I read this thread. I had to Google it to get the full story. It's shocking! One could forgive him if he didn't know but I believe he did (and most people probably do). Just unbelievable!
for the misinformed, i hope this answers all your questions and speculations.
--- DVSX has never at any time employed or conducted business with Marc Goldberg.
Here are the facts on how Xtreme Measures came into existence.
Marc Goldberg's mother (hereinafter named "PRODUCER") is employed by DVSX on a part time basis as a collections agent. PRODUCER also works part time for several other adult companies doing the same job.
In early 2003, PRODUCER approached DVSX, seeking distribution on a movie she would produce, in which DVSX expressed some interest.
When asked who would be directing the video, PRODUCER stated that Ralph Parfait would be in charge of shooting. DVSX approved. When asked if her son Marc Golberg would have any involvement in the production, PRODUCER stated that Goldberg would be assisting Parfait with production. DVSX asked if Goldberg could stay off set, for no reason other than to preserve the morale of the performers.
The date of production on Xtreme Measures is 5/20/03. Several months after the video was shot, PRODUCER presented it to DVSX, edited as a feature. DVSX expressed disinterest in this type of movie and declined the distribution deal, because DVSX is not a feature company. PRODUCER was left to seek distribution elsewhere. It was also at this time that DVSX discovered that "Mark Gold" was credited for directing.
Nearly 2 years had gone by. PRODUCER had not yet found distribution. Out of financial hardship, PRODUCER approached DVSX a second time, stating that she had invested her savings into producing this video and didn't know what to do with it. As a helping hand to an employee, DVSX reviewed the movie a second time and found it to be acceptable if re-edited into vignettes. The question of whether Parfait or Goldberg directed it did not affect the quality of the content. The main concern here was to help PRODUCER get her money back.DVSX then agreed to purchase the video OUTRIGHT from PRODUCER. Xtreme Measures was then added to the DVSX release schedule, sent into editing, advertised, and slated for release on 4/14/05.
DVSX credited everyone on Xtreme Measures according to the original cast&crew list submitted by PRODUCER.Though DVSX makes no apologies for releasing Xtreme Measures, it was never their intention to offend anyone with its release.

I do believe it was an error in judgment on DVSX's part to do any business with a project that involved Mark. If an exec posted an apology and statement that they would have no further involvement with any project Mark was involved in, I'd forgive DVSX and would buy from them. They would have to start a new thread for all to see though.
While I don't support Marc Wallace/Goldberg's continued employment by anyone in this industry and won't knowingly buy anything he's had a hand in (or even performed in) I have to say that if I were to boycott every company that's done or hired someone who's done something I find morally reprehensible I doubt I'd be watching any porn at all.
If DVSX knew that Marc had directed (and from Constance's post I can only assume they knew damned well) then crediting the pseudonym is pretty dodgy, and obviously done as an attempt to not release a "leper" title so they could make a profit/their money back on the title. Instead, it's blown up a little into a PR backlash.
Hindsight is always 20/20 though.
I dunno. I see it as these circumstances here, those circumstances there. Will DVSX release something directed by Wallace again? That's where the proof in the pudding will be for me.
Sorry to continue with the derail Kylie. While I think you're damned attractive, I haven't had a chance to check out any of your stuff for PXP (they needed more performers close to you in attractiveness) and I'm not into the hostile/rough genres.
If you ever put out a title that's just good hardcore sex/anal/dp without the circus act choke-fucking rough sex element with other ladies equally as attractive as yourself (no "filler" performers) then I'll pick that up in a heartbeat. You know, like Woodman-era Private type stuff in vignette form.
Well, Marc claimed that he did, but who knows? If he didn't, Parfait doesn't appear to have bothered contacting AVN with a correction.
At any rate, I appreciate the explanation, constance, but allow me to say that I find DVSX's business practices, as characterized, to be a little odd. A couple of points:
1) If one of my employees came to me with a proposal as nebulous as you seem to be suggesting, one in which she appeared to be looking to me to help make a success, I would not simply 'express some interest.' I would want enough details to assure myself that we were in agreement on what role I could play, if nothing else. Realistically, I would want enough to assure myself she wasn't throwing money down a rat hole, as well.
2) Ralph Parfait seems to have done all his work for Vivid, which is to say he produced features. In DVSX's shoes, I would have assumed that he was going to do the same for "PRODUCER," and made it clear at the beginning that DVSX was not a feature company. So, it seems odd to me that this didn't come out until after the fact.
I'm not saying the explanation is a pack of lies, though the 'hereinafter' does suggest it passed under the scrutiny of a lawyer (jailhouse variety?). I'm saying that your explanation leaves me in some astonishment over the portrait it paints of such a... hmm... loose operation. It seems that the porn world is even odder than I believed it to be, but I do appreciate you helping "PRODUCER" out of her financial difficulties.
Marc should be banned from porn indefinitely because of what he did. Anyone who would hire him is an idiot. By the way, I know that DVSX isn't a feature studio, but maybe they should make one someday. If they ever do make a feature film, Kylie should be the director.

Why me? I like shooting hardcore gonzo...
As far as Marc, this is old news and really isn't that important in the grand scheme of things. DVSX doesn't employ him - neither does anyone else to my knowledge - so really what is everyone so worked up about? Like I also stated earlier in this thread, Marc used to edit for VCA back in 2000 and I don't see anyone boycotting VCA product. And he did a lot more work there than just one movie. A little hypocritical isn't it, to pick on one company? Several people have said, including me, if you knew half the stuff about people/companies in this industry you would boycott MOST everyone's product. It was ONE movie. Is it worth not seeing a lot of kick-ass movies (like mine!) because of that? DVSX has some really good product, so what if they made a mistake.
This anyone does boycott VCA. I had no idea he'd worked at VCA until Astro mentioned it earlier this year. If I had, I'd never have bought a bunch Holliday movies, no matter how great I think they are. And now that I do know, buying VCA titles is no longer an option.
It's a personal thing of course, but I do think it's perfectly fair to boycott everything DVSX because of ONE movie.
Adam & Eve was dropped too after I noticed they'd been distributing Simon Wolf titles.
I've pretty much come to the same conclusion, and taken the logical consequence.
Several people have said, including me, if you knew half the stuff about people/companies in this industry you would boycott MOST everyone's product.
Are you happy with this state of affairs? Should everybody just shrug their shoulders and say, "Well, they're porners, what do you expect?" Maybe we should expect a little better and let people know it, instead.
A little hypocritical isn't it, to pick on one company?
I see this argument as akin to my complaining as a kid that it wasn't fair when my parents whacked me for bad behavior that my friends were doing, too. Somehow my parents were never impressed with that argument. They thought I should be responsible for my own behavior and stop looking for excuses in the behavior of others.
As I said before, my saying "no more" with DVSX wasn't so much with them apparently hiring Marc than with how they did it. Yes, if we saw the warts on everything we like or are involved with, we'd probably lock ourselves in a closet and never come out. I've worked plenty around the food service industry, both in restaurants and several types of food production plants, which would give me plenty of reason to never eat out, etc., but I've just learned to avoid certain restaurants.
I'll second what Hardware said. Basically it all comes down to he said / she said between Connie and Wallice (from his AVN article). I want to believe Connie, but the altruism that comes out in her lawyerish post does a great job of contradicting her other comments about how it's basically okay to be a bastard if everybody else is being a bastard. There's motives and questions on both sides, and it's definitely plenty to ponder.
As for Fucking Hostile , with Kylie behind it I'm pretty sure it's a pretty hot movie with the care and passion Kylie seems to put into everything she does.

I am now bowing gracefully out of this thread. This all happened way before I came to DVSX, so it is really not my place to comment on it. The people at DVSX are good people, they care about their product and their employees. I have been treated great and enjoy working for them. I have my own opinions on this Marc Wallice BS but I am going to keep them to myself.
This was supposed to be a thread discussing a movie and it has gone from bad to worse and now people are just getting mean.
For the record: Fucking Hostile was directed by Craven Moorehead, not me (my movie is Twisted as Fuck) I was simply trying to get this thread back on topic...

Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn! Shows how all over the place my mind is. Thank you for correcting me once again, Kylie. Let me say that I have no clue how Fucking Hostile will be as I don't think I've seen a single one of Craven's movies. I'm pretty sure Twisted as Fuck will be a well done movie...

I believe in you. Sure, you know what kind of movies you want to make, and I don't want you to stop what you're doing now, but I was just saying that if someone at DVSX (either you or someone else) came up with an idea for a feature film that was hopefully unlike anything else out there, I think that you would be the right person to direct it. Yeah, it's more wishful thinking than anything, but like I said, I think you could pull it off.
I wouldn't boycott a studio's product because that studio hired him. I think he's a disgusting human being for performing in movies even though he knew that he was HIV positive, but my anger is towards him, not the studios he works for. The reason I think he should be banned from porn is that he needs to be shown that nobody will forgive him for his actions.
So much fucking drama. I'm really glad I was starting my hiatus at the time of this crap, makes me want to go on another.
I met Constance, she was cool, would I start spitting on her over some lame ass stuff that was beyond her control at the time? How can she help or change being lied to? Whatever.
People need to chill out, and smoke some fucking drugs or some shit, calm down ya'll.
