Actually size doesn't really matter as long as you are at least close to average. Ten centimeters is probably OK. The question is can you keep it up for hours on end while being interrupted for still pictures, position changes, tape changes (in the camera), lighting changes, etc? Also, are you reasonably attractive (not necessarily the 2010's version of Fabio)? Can you get it up to an unattractive (to you) woman who may be tied up, black and blue from whipping, suspended from the ceiling, tweaking, high, drunk, inattentive, etc.? If so, you meet the first requirement. The second is knowing someone in the industry that will take a chance on you. The reason there are only 20 men in the industry is because so many that have claimed they could meet the first requirement could not and cost the producer $15,000 plus each as the shoot gets cancelled and the other participants have to be paid twice to come back and start the scene over again another day. Producers will almost always hire a known entity over a noobie when it comes to a man. The easiest way to get into the business is for you to have an extremely attractive, non-tattooed woman whose coattails you can ride into the industry for ten scenes or so. This woman has to be so attractive (think Kayden Kross) that the producer will accept that she only will perform with you and actually give you a chance. It would be better if you and she were turned on by BDSM as well, that would expand the slate of companies you would be able to apply to (this is not an absolute requirement, though). After ten scenes or so if you can perform and be professional you will have a good reputation and can then get scenes without your girl.
Don't just think "yeah, I watch a lot of porn, I can last hours with one person, it'll be so easy!", because it couldn't be further from the truth. Try fucking someone when 5 people are in the room watching you, with the pressure that other than the woman, your performance is the most important thing in the scene.

There is nothing such as a requirement to enter the porn industry. I have seen just about anything you can imagine, guys with erect cocks no more than 2 inches, guys with limp dicks, guys and girls with missing limbs, pregnant girls, girls who are very overweight, performers in their 70s, performers with countless piercings and tattoos, you name it, it exists. Individual companies will be very selective and unless you know someone or fit a niche it is competitive. The big companies tend to recycle the same guys.

I looked at LA Direct's write-up. I would have to disagree with the age limits written there. Randy Spears and John Leslie worked into their 50's, Evan Stone is at least 40 and Ron Jeremy is well over 50. Dave Cummings is in his 70's and didn't start until after retiring from the US military after over 20 years there. Also with the current political climate I would suggest that if you move to LA that you not buy a house there as porn is likely about to move to San Francisco and the North Bay area due to a stupid new LA requirement that all porn "feature" condoms even though they break three or four times over before a scene is finished. Also if you happen to enjoy and have experience in BDSM you may have a better chance of getting your foot in the biz via Kink.com. Guys with extensive BDSM experience are so rare that they end up recycling the same five guys as the stunt dick/dominant of the scene plus probably five submissive men for Madeline's sites.
