Watched Chic. Couldn't get past the bloody razor rash in Riley's scenes. If your skin is that sensitive than maybe just trim your pubes short. Heather Vahn and Zeina Heart looked great. And I agree with the post above. I hate much of the lighting and filters that DP uses.
Regarding the lighting and filters, it all depends on the movie. Riley is in Jack's Teen America 23(which isn't out til August) won't have any of that lighting. It's all natural sunlight. I prefer that usually.

Not only is DP's lighting and glare annoying, their directing is terrible as well. In Gonzo you usually get awesome full body shots so that you see both face and body simultaneously. In most of DP's features, you almost only get close-up shots of body parts even in their pov series. I wish they'd incorporate full body shots as well. It would make their features 100 hex better. this is friggin comical because digital playground is one of the main powerhouses in the biz, has multiple awards ranging from avn to xbiz to fame to xrco.....if you dont like how it is shot dont watch it.... "im the girl your mother warned you about"
Actually, the girls are gorgeous and the direction is usually pretty good. Combine that with an impeccable picture and I'd say your "composition" is the best in the industry. I am so sick and tired of Zero Tolerance NOT shooting in HD 2/3 of the time, of Vivid's terrible EVERYthing (except the women), of Ninn Worx's pixelated transfers. Wicked used to be ok, but now looks terrible by HD standards. Diabolic, Silver Sinema and New Sensations do a good job. But so many studios don't even try to stay current - I guess most porn watchers still have tubes? Doubt it. If you are bothering to pay for your porn DVD's, chances are you have HD. Ok, I'm done with you DP haters, I'm back to waiting for my copy of Perfect Pet to arrive in the mail. :-)
DP does have the best HD library in adult. They are also ahead of technology compared to other companies... at times even ahead of mainstream's billion dollar studios. They were shooting with RED cameras before everyone else. I'm curious if any other adult company has started shooting with that other than DP. It's 4 times the resolution of HD. Come on, complaints about DP's directing is not a new thing. Some people like it and some are frustrated because, the fact is, they really do have the best girls (most of the time). When you have the best girls and top notch standards, in general, and you round out your movies with some of the best girls not under contract, you can expect to be picked apart like no one else. You're the top dog...everyone is going to want to put in their 2 cents. I think, like any other studio, unless someone is really rude, it never hurts to listen to criticism. Some things could be better and it only makes it more noticeable when you're waiting with your stiffy for a long time for the new Riley Steele DVD to arrive. Seriously, with Riley Steele and Stoya, do you really think I'm not gonna be buying or renting almost everything you release, even if I wish something about it was "better?"
I must have missed something here since we were one of the first companies to shoot everything in HD. Our first HD title was Girlvana in 2005. Our DVD's have been presented in anamorphic widescreen since 2006. We were among the first to release our titles on HD-DVD before the format wars were decided. We just released the first Blu-ray interactive movie in the industry. Perhaps you can understand my confusion about your comment.

DP seem to have two modes: ultra fuzzy and perfect HD realism. I am not sure why the just don't stick with the latter, but hey if people are buying then they don't care. Some companies get it right every time, case-in-point "Jules Jordan". Also the guy a few post above is right. DP sometimes really go overboard with the close-ups. Anyone could be fucking half the time. That and a lot of their actors can barely bust a load in a facial. Teachers is the next big movie following Nurses and Riley of course is in that movie along with all the DP contract girls. I'm sure you would want to see it. No word about Pirates 3 yet. Pirates 2 is still running hot.

I think the issue then is the ZT box covers don't always indicate HD. It used to be that 2/3rd of them had no HD indication - today I'd say it's one third or less. And no, I am not including the compilations which of course are not in HD. So here is a very recent example - "WET DREAMS CUM TRUE 7". Is it HD or no?, because I can tell by the box cover is that Tori Black is F'ing hot....
All of our movies since 2006 have been shot in HD and authored in anamorphic widescreen. We stopped listing it on the box because shot in HD means nothing unless you are watching the blu-ray version or the 1080p H.264 file on our website.

im having sooo much fun shooting piranha 3D. the cast is great, the directors are so much fun, im having the time of my life. we are doing a really hot underwater 3D scene with a hottie ;D
