I have yet to be impressed by him as a performer and have been less impressed with the tit;es he has reviewed. (Though Boz did earn a B)

In response to "getting more out of a performer" it has nothing to do with anal or any other act. It has to do with a performer's ability to get a good scene from his partner.
Let's face it, ANYONE can do a good scene with Katja. She carries any scene she is. But when a male performer can take a C level (heat wise) girl and get an A level performance out of her then he is doing his job very well. At the same time when a performer takes an A-level girl and leaves her looking bored then I would say that he isn't getting the most from the talent given.
I just don't see the same thing in Ben's performances. Or maybe I'm not seeing the same movies. I actually avoid truly brutal porn because I find it dreary and boring.
I'm not sure who I express "disdain" for, but clearly there are some in your eyes. We do all look for different things so that is to be expected. (Though some reviewers refuse to express even slight displeasure, let alone disdain.)
Thank you for the kind words and for the thoughtful disagreement. I respect your opinion and if there is more to the Ben thing than meets the eye I am sure someone will tell me. (Yes, there are certain performers I avoid based on knowledge of things they have done on and off set.)
The really funny thing abuot this...and probably any list ever posted is that 99% of the energy is on what is 'wrong' with the list. Not a whole lot of appreciation for those who were nominated (or any from them). Instead of bagging Aurora for being nominated, how about looking at the women who really had great years?
I like the discussion and frankly learn a lot from disagreement, but everything seems to be so focused on the negative.
Hopefully Kacey or someone else will be on hand when the awards are announced to keep everyone focused on something hot.....
Yes AC, I am a hypocrite at times. And frankly I don't even consider that I am or any director except for Rocco to be a celebrity. Nobody especially the general masses gives a flying fuck.
Go to the AVN show. The directors walk around generally anonymous. It is the girls who are noticed. Any director that thinks he or she deserves an ego because of their greatness is a fool. There are exceptions: Rocco and Ron Jeremy (not really a director) come to mind.
