I think someone already posted a thread on problems with this disc. I had earlier posted that mine played fine (it was becuase I hadn't got that far through the movie yet).
Turns out that I'm having the same problems some others are having with this disc.
At the 1:40:10 point of the movie (chapter 44) it freezes up and the screen starts to shake a bit, the disc will then throw you somewhere between the 1:44:10 piont and the 1:55:00 point (the last chapter) and the shaking of the screen continues. Most of the scene that chapter 44 is a part of is totally unaccessable. And the last chapter stabalizes a couple of minutes into it.
I rented a copy of Rogue #9 at my local store just to check it out for this problem, and it is the same as the copy I bought, same problems with freezing, shaking and unaccessability. Two versions of the same disc, same problem.
I have a Sony DVP-S360. This player has excellent error correction.
I have noticed that Evil Angel's discs problems always occur after the layer change. My Sony it will play some discs that other folks machines have problems with (for instance Rogue Adventures #3, I think cubesnake or BigMike posted that they couldn't play this disc past the 3rd scene). I noticed that on Rogue #3 past the 3rd scene my machine can play it, but when fast forwarding it tends to skip and freeze up a bit), but when playing at normal speed it's fine. When fast frowarding is the giveaway that something might be wrong with the disc as it has trouble when using the FF.
This slight skipping or stalling during fast forwarding after the layer change occures on Evil Angel discs quite frequently. Maybe Evil Angel ought to have a talk with thier dvd authoror, because I see on a consistent basis, slight difficulty in fast forwarding after the layer change.
And it's definately not my player, it'll play discs that are not playable in other machines.
I have noticed this FF problem in some Vivid discs as well, some skipping and stalling after the layer change.
