I've never gotten the impression that Sasha's primary goal in porn was money. She's said many times that she sees porn as something of an art form and she thought much of what she was seeing in porn was lame and she thought she could do better and take it up a few levels. If Sasha's goal was only to make money or to be a big "celeb" through porn she could've easily been a contract girl, feature dance, and all that stuff. Did she even have a website like most girls do? Does have all the toys and dolls with her face and name on them like other girls? I don't recall really seeing her trying to sell stuff. Considering she was one of the biggest names in porn you really didn't see her doing that much to put her self out there. It seems like Hollywood basically came to her.
She did the porn thing. Got to express herself. Was on top for awhile. Mainstrean oppurtunities came. The porn biz isn't what it used to be. Is there anthing to really come back to porn for at this point? Life in the "mainstream" is a new adventure. She enjoyed her time in porn but the "mainstream" stuff is new, fun and exciting. Things are going well for her now so why go back to porn at this point? If her porn fans are real fans they'll support her in her new "mainstream" career.

Draxx, That is actually one of the most level-headed looks at this whole topic I think. I hadn't simply considered that it probably was more about the experience to her than a career and the points you make about her marketing herself I think are true and kind of point to that line of thought.
She did have a website, maybe a few, but none really appeared to be the typical variety to sell herself; it seemed more like a blog. Then of course, she started her own company and created a few releases, with again, to me, very little marketing. I think her direction was to maybe try and improve upon what she thought was a stagnant art form, but didn't aggressively pursue that. Maybe it was harder than she imagined, or maybe the mainstream opportunities just came knocking at about that time-who knows?
But whatever reason, she hasn't bad-mouthed it, and it may be a case of where she doesn't think coming back would be any enhancement to her or the industry. This is where I veer apart from her beliefs though as I think the medium is still vastly untapped and we are yet to see new forms of expression. That's my hope at least, but it'll require more creative people to enter the industry. Not to take anything away from the creators of today, as while there is a lot of similar content out there, I nonetheless am thankful for what we've got.
I'll say also that with a person like Sasha, you never know what she might find interesting down the road. I don't know how much she loves dj'ing, but that could entirely be an experience for her to just enjoy now. And who knows, maybe things will come full circle. I hold out hope she returns someday, for the reasons she has stated, to expand sexuality and the art form. And my hope is that she gets a bit more celebrity before doing so, as that re-entry could be revolutionary. But who knows what doors will open for her.

I'm sure if Hollywood hadn't come a knockin' Sasha would've still be happily or at least content to keep making porn...until she wasn't. I agree that porn still has untapped potential but I don't know if the porn buying audience (what's left of it) really wants anything new or different. They of course say they do but show no evidence of that. For all the complaining on this site about wanting something different in porn anytime something new or different is done it's met with negativity. Based on what is discussed on this site most (not all) people just want anal, IR, new girls and comebacks from retired performers.
I think Sasha did her part in trying to take things up a few notches but there's only so much she could do. Directors/studios are going to stick with the formula that's been proven to work. Now that sales are down no one is going to get too risky.

While I have to say that Sasha is easily the biggest crossover star from porn to date I have to say I have not seen anything showcasing her talents as an actress. So far she has pretty much played herself or a variation of. I did like her in Entourage but TGFE was not very good IMO. So far she has not done anything to warrant her being a good actress.

She may not be a good actress. If not then she'll keep looking for something that she can excel in and that satisfies her dreams and desires. That's no different than the rest of us. The only thing that separates her from the general run of the mill is the lengths that she's willing to go to in order to find what she's looking for.

Part of the problem is (and will be) that if a director needs a girl acting he's going to go with an actual actress and there's no reason to go with Sasha. If it ever comes down to getting a role simply based on acting ability there are thousands of girl who can act (or act better) than Sasha. If the part calls for a porn girl or ex-porn girl or something of the sort Sasha has a good shot at that because she actually was one. Or if the director is a fan and puts her in the role because of that or for the notoriety. Or if someone is doing one of those softcore Skinemax movies that uses pornstars mostly because they're willing to get naked and do simulated sex scenes.
That's not a putdown but more of statement of how Hollywood works. If Sasha wasn't Sasha Grey and actually had to audition for the role of playing herself she probably wouldn't have gotten it if it were based solely on acting ability. Not because her acting isn't good but because there are so many actresses who are better.
It's possible that over time if she gets enough small roles she can build a body of work that would convince people she's an actress instead of just an ex pornstar but that may take awhile unless she really is a great actress and we just haven't seen it yet and a part comes up that shows that.

Does it matter? Where are most actresses and pornstars in 10 years? Even if Sasha doesn't make it as a serious mainstream actress she ahead of the curve by getting as far as she has considering she was a pornstar in a Hollywood world that frowns upon pornstars. In the world of porn she left an impressive body of work and I'm sure she'll contine to have new porn watchers discover her work and become fans for years to come.

^^ Draxxx makes a lot of sense.
Many a mainstream actress has complained about the lack of roles once they are past thrty and even more so once they are past forty. Even actresses who were A-list in their twenties have a hard time as they grow older in Hollywood. In porn it is even more of a young girls game.
If a pornstar can reach thirty, not be a raging drug addict, has some money set aside, maybe owns their own house and has maxed out their Roth IRA's, then they have basically won the game. They will have some decent choices for their future. A pornstar who has even gotten some mainstream crossover success like Sasha will have a hardtime once she gets older because all women do in the biz, porn or mainstream. But, unlike all too many, she will have a decent set of choices for her future.
A producers, directors and casting directors will have hundred's of new or experienced actresses to choose from who will be as good or better in a role than any pornstar. The only value a pornstar might add is name recognition, for the handful of big stars who have it and the shock value of having a name pornstar in a role. The more mainstream roles Sasha gets the less impact she will have as being a former pornstar and the more she will be seen as just one of thousands of actresses looking for roles.

Sasha Grey is far too young to be making predictions of her demise. Obviously, she has big ambitions. Obviously, she hasn't demonstrated an innate talent that will easily fulfill them - being able to deep throat will only take you so far. That doesn't prove that she can't - genius is one percent inspiration and ninety nine percent perspiration, right?
She's attractive and she's articulate enough to defend her foray into porn to the art world, which is more than most people could do. She's separated herself from the crowd, and that's not a bad start.

You don't know that for sure. She probably won't be remembered in mainstream 10 years from now but besides her present body of work in porn she could very easily go back to porn 10 years down the road and be welcomed back with open arms. Hell, she could probably go back to porn in a couple of years and keep working for 10 years or more to come. There have been a lot less dynamic and less known performers who've managed to stay in porn over 10 years. Lisa Ann has been in the biz for a long time and is more popular now than ever.

Ms. Grey has one of the best faces and bodies I've ever scene in pr0n. At her best, she brought an incredible energy to her scenes as well as a off beat sense of humor.
Most of the time, Ms. Grey gave off a "It is all about me / look at me / look at me / I am so deep" vibe that was increasingly off putting--especially the last. Ms. Grey greatly over estimates her intellectual skills.
And she talked way too much in her scenes. (I would not have thought that someone could be more annoying than Peter North in that regard.)
IMO, she handled her transition from pr0n to the margins of mainstream poorly. She made it increasingly clear that, all along, her legions of fans in the adult movie industry were nothing more to her than objects in her rear view mirror. While she owes those fans nothing, no one should be surprised that people are figuring her out and reconsidering their views of her.

Very well said Dr Fell, Don't get me wrong I am a fan but the I agree 1000% with the "I am so deep vibe" Having met her (Although 2 mins is not a fair way to judge) she did give off the same exact vibe when I asked her a simple question about her ADT avatar. Like she either never heard of ADT or could not be bothered to think for two and half seconds for an answer.

It's been said by people smarter than me here so I won't try and pretend I'm making a really apt observation here, but Sasha has always struck me as someone who got as much out of porn as she wanted and decided to leave of her own accord. Certainly her success on Entourage and Girlfriend Experience provided a soft landing for her, but even if she hadn't gotten "mainstream success" she probably would have left anyway.
We all like to think that women do porn movies because they love sex and can't get enough. That's the key illusion we need to buy into. To me Sasha strikes me as someone who for the most part did enjoy shooting these movies because she was interested in not only a job that paid well for someone of her exotic beauty but allowed her to stretch her own sexual boundaries and live out whatever fantasies she had on her own. I think she really did like doing porn and it showed. She never seemed to take it too seriously and I disagree with the idea that she overestimates her own intelligence. She seems like a very smart, confident young woman who approached porn as a way to develop her own sense of self and when she felt she had accomplished all she wanted was able to walk away.
She was always very good to us on this website, humoring us and talking to us. She's never given an anti-business interview and isn't exactly hanging out with the Shelly Lubens of the world or going on some show and talking about how she was forced into porn and it was a miserable experience.
She got in, made a huge impact and then got out before she got tired of the business. Who doesn't want to retire early from their job? She was able to do it and maybe she'll be back some day. Maybe she'll need money. Maybe she'll be bored. Maybe there's another reason...we can only watch and wonder.
And maybe she will be a footnote in 10 years. But really, what is Jenna Jameson today except a drama queen who had too much plastic surgery and throws Twitter temper tantrums?
Hopefully Sasha is out there doing what she wants to do how she wants to do it. That's all we can hope for anyone. She was a great porn performer. One of the best. Now she's moved on. Does she even want to be a mainstream actress? Who knows. The odds are against her. But she's smart. She's beautiful. And she seems to know who she is and what she wants.
What happens next is up to her.
I hope she has nothing but the greatest success in whatever she does. She was very good to her fans when she was in the business so now let's be good to her as she's out of the business.
Just my two cents...

Ken

I tend to agree with you on that count. I didn't like when she implied that most girls in the biz aren't smart. She may have been smart but she seemed to try and prove it by talking about what she was into and reading. I didn't agree that intelligence is all about or proven by what you like or are into.
I know too much (or any) talk turns some people here off but I like that she put in the effort to try and make the scene hotter by saying stuff rather than the typical much over used "Oh yeah...Oh yeah" many pornstars do. I think that's one of the ways she tried to turn things up a notch, by saying dirty things to enhance the sex. For me it worked but you can't please everyone.
What exactly would you have her do? Make a big deal by coming back to give a going away speech? What's the point really? She's no out there bashing the industry. She's not denying she ever did porn. She probably slowly came to the decision she was offically out of porn over a period of time. Or maybe somewhere in the back of her head she hasn't ruled out never coming back. In any case, she's moved on and I don't understand why some people she needs to leave porn behind in a specific way to aplease them. Even if she held a huge press conference to say whatever you want to hear it doesn't change the fact that she did good work while she was in the biz and that she's trying something different now. We all know this. Wy should she have to come back to tell us what we already know?

^ Draxxx, take another look at her "farewell" on this BB LINK
  • What did she say?
  • Was it timely?
  • Was it credible? (Does it read like a person who really cares or is just checking an item off the to do list?)
  • Was it gracious?
  • To whom was she most thankful? Those who helped get her to this stage in her career, or those who are helping her get to the next stage?

Again, as I said, she doesn't owe anyone anything, least of all those of us who jumped the shark when she was still performing in the industry. But don't expect to have it both ways--if you're going to present yourself as thoughtful and deep, then act that way.

I think this is pretty cool. She may not be addressing the industry with a gig like this, but it amounts to the same, and raises the industry's image. A win-win, I think.

^ It seems Sasha does quite a bit of stuff for the G4 channel. I think I've been looking at Sasha's mainstream career from the wrong angle. She may not become a big time well known mainstream actress but it's very possible she'll become a mainstream personality. With the work she's getting as a host, DJ, voice actress, and sometimes actress, I think she'll do just fine in the world of mainstream and probably will for awhile. Even though most of her gigs aren't big high profile stuff, she seems to be doing plenty of stuff that keeps her busy, in the public eye and probably pays pretty well. I think her caeer is in a nice place where she doesn't have to act like she never did or deny she ever did porn but at the same time doesn't have to always get naked and play up the porn connection or do embarrassing stuff to get work.

You're entitled to your opinion and probably anything I say won't change your mind, but my take on the whole thing is different...
There isn't a "things to do list" or a set of rules of what must be done when a girl leaves porn. Jenna Jameson made her farewell appearance at an AEE Awards show but I felt it was only for publicity and because she still had product coming out from her studio. I've also never felt Jenna was ever a spokesperson or champion for porn the way some other pornstars are. I've always felt Jenna's angle was from the business aspect of look how much money a pornstar can make and "I'm the biggest pornstar in the business..". The porn industry kissed Jenna's ass (perhaps rightfully so) because she got "mainstream" to pay attention to her and because she moved lots of product.
On the other hand, I tend to think the porn industry kissed Sasha's ass because she was a great performer/pornstar. Sasha's popularity comes soley from from the fact that she made the decision that she wanted to make some better porn than the stuff she was seeing. Jenna's fame/career owes much to timing, luck and business smarts. If the same Jenna Jameson had entered porn a few years later she'd never be able to do what she did again. However, with Sasha her success is tied entirely to her being a good performer and wanted to make people take notice.
I have no problem with the way Sasha left. She doesn't put down her porn career or the industry like some girls who left. I don't think she owes porn anything...I think porn owes her. From what I see Sasha came in fully formed with a game plan and carried it out. The porn industry didn't prop her up or guide her career or make her as popular as she was. She did all that herself through her efforts. Porn was just the vehicle to do that through. Porn profitted from Sasha's efforts and Sasha did have type of support Jenna had from the industry. So I don't feel Sasha owes porn anything.
I also don't think Sasha owes her porn fans anything. Her porn fans didn't help her career along out of the goodness of their hearts. Those fans were fans and supported Sasha because she delivered what they wanted to see. As long as Sasha did that they were onboard. If she stopped delivering what they wanted most would drop her in a heartbeat. We see that type of thing on this site all the time.
I'm a big Sasha fan but only because she made me take notice of her. I'm much more a fan of curvy performers. Sasha's cute and has a fantastic butt but it's Sasha's performances, energy, personality and the type of scenes she was willing to do that forced me to be fan. I don't feel she owes me an explanation or goodbye from her leaving porn, just as I wouldn't owe her an explanation or goodbye if I decided to stop being a fan or watching her stuff. She supplied entertainment I liked and I supported it. It really doesn't go much deeper than that.
Sasha didn't really ask for much from her fans and didn't try to take advantage of them. She just put in the effort to do cool stuff and the fans responded. She doesn't owe the fans anything in my opinion. They know she's moved on and they should just be happy that she's happy.

I am really interested at the intersection of pop culture and porn culture. Your post makes some really good points. There are so many more opportunities for a pornstar to crossover into the mainstream then just ten years ago. From the gaming world to reality TV to DJ'ing to club hosting to more traditional mainstream TV and movies, the opportunities are out there for a smart, ambitious, hard-working pornstar to do a lot more crossover work.
By pornstar, however, I mean one of the top performers who have proven themselves over at least a few years, built up a loyal fanbase they can bring with them, and have a reputation for professionalism. The sad thing is that as the chances in mainstream multiply I think the star making system in the porn world is breaking down.
I get the impression that even before her fame and notoriety exploded, Bree Olson was looking at Sasha Grey's career and thinking that maybe there were mainstream chances using Sasha as a role model. There are probably five to ten girls out there that might be able to look for inspiration from how Sasha is handling things.

Is there that wide of a difference in our views? We both agree that Ms. Grey doesn't owe her fans or the pr0n industry anything.
We disagree on how her fans "should" feel. You feel "they should just be happy that she's happy." I feel they should feel the way they feel and if they feel that Ms. Grey is something less than they initially thought, there's plenty of evidence to support that interpretation.

I don't think we'll see much of an "intersection" of porn and mainstream for awhile. I think the younger demographic is much more open to seeing pornstars do stuff outside the porn biz than the older demographic. I also think pornstars can perhaps do well in certain niche areas but not in "primetime" mainstream. Sasha and other pornstars can do shows on G4 or some other cable stations that go after a younger demographic and a smaller audience but probably wouldn't be as accepted in major movies or on network tv.
What kind of intersection bewteen porn and pop culture would you like to see?
Who are some of the girls you're thinking of?
I like Bree but I think she had a better chance at mainstream acceptance before the whole Charlie Sheen thing. Yeah, she's more well known now but for bad reasons. I have to imagine most people see Bree as one of the wacky porngirls who were shacking up with crazy Charlie. If Bree had been a "legit" girlfriend of Charlie's before Charlie started getting out of control she would've been viewed far more favorably. Then if you look at those outrageous tweets Bree used to do (or still does) about how she wants to fuck random strangers it just makes her look like some crazy pornstar.
There was a time I thought Tera Patrick might be able to pull off a more mainstream career but Tera's attitude about her porn career is so off putting. And her ego is a bit too big and is perhaps a turnoff to people. But otherwise Tera actually has the smarts, looks and class to pull it off if her personality didn't get in the way.

I guess the idea of an intersection of porn culture and mainstream pop culture depends more on your definition of mainstream culture. The broader you define it the easier you can find points of intersection. If you look mainstream pop culture as being broader than Hollywood movies, network TV and major label music than there are plenty more opportunities now than ever before. You mentioned something like the G4 network. Those types of venues along with the web provide a lot scope for an adult superstar to make a post-porn living. Sasha Grey might only get the occasional small supporting role in an indy film or cable TV show but that exposure, along with her previous work as a pornstar, could make it easier for her to make a nice six figure income doing everything from DJ’ing, to books, to voiceover work on video games.
“What kind of intersection bewteen porn and pop culture would you like to see?”
I would like to see adult performers, who have proven to be hard working professionals over several years and cultivated a strong fanbase, have the chance to try their hand at earning a decent living, if not at the heart of mainstream pop culture then at the margins. The margins can still provide a decent living and given the wear-and-tear of a porn career and the bad economics of making porn today, it can give some performers a chance at a decent second career.
” Who are some of the girls you're thinking of?”
I think Sasha Grey has already made the transition. Next in line would be Bree Olson. I would agree that her “notoriety” based celebrity might make traditional mainstream acceptance more difficult. The chances before Sheen would have been pretty difficult as well. The way she has handled her recent Playboy promo blitz might mean she could surprise us in a more traditional mainstream sense. Bree’s best option might be in the reality TV/celebrity industrial complex that has grown in recent years. The reality TV/celebrity industrial complex can be quite lucrative for someone with lots of notoriety as can be seen by the likes of the Kardashians.
Otherwise maybe a girl like Riley Steele or Kayden Kross. They have a look that could translate well in the right situation. In the same vein maybe a KLK. Someone like Stoya might try to take a more Sasha Grey type route by appealing to the hipster demo. Even a James Deen, on the male side, might have a chance given the way he seems to have a huge female fanbase on sites like Jezebel.

To each his/her own. If you and others feel that way...fine. I just don't see it the same way and think it's a bit unjustified.
What has Sasha done exactly? She stopped making porn. This isn't anything that thousands of other girls have done before. Why is it different in her case? Did she make a promise to never stop? She didn't show up at an award show or hold a press conference or whatever to offically announce her leaving the biz. Most girls who leave don't do that. Why is it different in her case? Did she promise she'd do that? Is it a new rule that it must be done? She stop posting here. When someone revives an old thread I'm often surprised at the amount of pornastars that used to post on this board but no longer do. So pornstars who stop posting here is far from new or unusual. Why is it different with Sasha? Did she ever promise to always post here?
Honestly, I think there's a resentment because some people feel she turned her back on them and porn. They see that she's doing other things and now assumes she has the attitude of she thinks she's too good for us. The main difference between Sasha and the other thousands of girls that left porn is she's still in the public eye. She didn't turn her back on porn...she simply moved on...there's a big difference between the two in my mind. She didn't make that big official announcement about her leaving and say her goodbyes. I don't see much point in that really. I'm sure she had her reasons for not doing it. Either way, is it tht big a deal?
Lastly, she doesn't post here anymore. Well, she just joined a long list of pornstars that don't anymore. Honestly, why should she post here at this point? So she can read through the awkward "When you comming back to porn?", "Your fav scene of mine was when you took on all those guys in that gangbag movie!" "Sasha, I'd love to see you come back and do a DP with Lex and Manding..." or even worse to read the putdowns about her acting and the people who say she isn't going to make it?
She's moved on and doesn't do porn anymore. I'm sure she probably communicates with fans who are into and want to talk about the stuff she's doing now. She's not doing the porn stuff anymore, why hang out on a sight devoted to what she doesn't do anymore? Does anyone do that? She doesn't seem to have a problem with this site but is into different stuff now. I read her last post and it seems like she just stopped by to let us know what she was up to at the time. Nothing more to it than that.
I'm not trying to be a dick about this...but am I missing something? Did she do or say something that I'm unaware of that put her in a bad light? If so, feel free to straighten me out. I'm a fan but not so much of a fan I don't think she can do no wrong.

I'm pretty sure financially Sasha is doing better these days that when she did porn. The only advantage porn has is that a popular girl can work much more often if they choose. But I'm pretty sure the gigs she gets now aren't as plentiful but pay much much more than the average porn scene.
It's a tricky thing. Just because a girl is hard working in porn and has a fanbase doesn't mean she has what it takes to crossover to mainstream and be successful outside of porn. The girl still has to have the right type of "presence", charm, personality, and poise to make it work. Mary Carey had all that attention on her when she ran for governer and wasn't able to make it work for her in a positive way. It seemed that for awhile Stormy Daniels was going breakout and she couldn't make it happen.
And when you talk about fanbases...are those fans going to follow the girl and support her if she isn't getting naked or having sex on film?
I just don't see it happening for Bree. I just don't see her as the type. Riley Steele hosted a show on G4 and came across as kinda "wooden" in her hosting role. Being pretty just isn't enough.
As far as doing a reality show...even though they're all "scripted" to a degree you still need something to start with. Do these girls live the sort of life that would be interesting to follow beyond shooting sex scenes? The perfect pornstar for a reality show is/was Tabitha Stevens. She's appeared on lots of shows already and has a big fanbase from her Howard Stern appearances. She's shot porn, she's does porn scenes/movies, her husband is an award winning cameraman in mainstream film, they travel a lot, Tabitha is willing to have sex with various misfits out of the goodness of her heart, and Tabitha cane be a bit wacky at times. Tabitha may not the "hot/popular" pornstar of the moment but she's interesting enough to do a reality show on. But Tabitha and her husband have said that even though they've met with people who like the idea they said no network would put on a reality show with a pornstar. I don't know if they included HBO, CINEMAX or the PLAYBOY channel in that claim. HBO has shown they have no problem with pornstars or prostitutes.

She hasn't been in the first two episodes, which have been horrible. They should have pulled the plug on this show after last season.

I saw Sasha DJ tonight right after work. My ears blew out after 20 minutes. I went to another bar and rested my head.

As the starter to this thread, I just wanted to say how cool, and varied the replies and opinions have been. My goal was to get people talking on the concept of porn star outside of porn and in mainstream and if it's good/bad for porn in any way.
Many good points have been made on both sides and my viewpoint has changed a bit since I first started this thread. I definitely still don't think Sasha has turned her back on porn in any way, and for that, I'm glad. I'm happy she's doing things she is interested in and she has earned that opportunity by all of her means. I don't think she would ever turn her back on porn the way Jenna did; I could be wrong but it's just my gut instinct that it was true for her while doing it, and her opinion on it remains true. Her leaving is simply a choice of doing other things, and whom in life wouldn't like to be able to do that?
My opinion has changed in the sense, as others have posted, that I'm not sure a true "crossover" will happen anytime soon, even maybe in my generation. Change just simply takes too much time and it's often observed after the fact instead of while it's happening. That being said, I do think we'll reach an age where there just isn't the stigma applied to sex in general that there still is now. There's just too many of the younger generation who don't view it in the negative way that previous generations did, and for that I'm glad.
But while it may not be visable for a while to come, the actions of stars like Sasha DO make a difference down the road, as porn gets more accepted within our/others' countries, so in that sense she can be seen as a trendsetter.
I think that is a good thing overall. In the meantime, my underlying hope is that porn stars can continue to cross over into various types of media, whether they be small or large scenarios, and could CONTINUE in porn. To me, acceptance will truly happen when both sides can coexist and the seedlings/signs of that are already happening bit by bit. Thanks to everyone who brought up very good points on all aspects to this thread. I hope it continues if for nothing else, more Sasha updates as they are observed.

Imo. In terms of porn stars crossover to mainstream, people believe in what they have seen and know. She is very cold in her acting. The approach which she took to be noticed or famous is not very sincere. It is more of finding herself in the porn/mainstream industries. Both she had exploited. But I believe her ultimate goal is to become a mainstream actress. She acted in porn for 3 years from 18 to 21 yo. Then took her so called fame to crossover. Think about it is all about fame and porn was a stepping stone for her. It is obvious. Like another Traci lord. Only this one has a well thought out plan. It was never like what she claimed that she wanted to promoting porn to next levels. In fact, I feel Belladonna is a real performer while she was just exploiting the industry for her own agenda. She has some problems because she looked very cold in most of her interviews and her vacant eyes say that is it that she is empty. I just don't like too see a insincere porn or not porn actress. And I don't appreciate her acting. I don't feel she can act. She seems like to prove people wrong a lot. I hope she can find herself. This is my opinions from whatever she presented to me be it porn, mainstream and interviews and all those videos she was in.

She does not want to offend porn. So she did not do victim lije Traci Lords. She is smart. She has a backup plan. If either one doesn't work, she can still do porn. I believe her porn fan base is bigger than mainstream fans. And also porn industry had learnt from that Traci Lord scandal so she also knew to report herself older with fake ID does not work already so she is a friend to everybody and both industries. Another thing about Traci lords that I do believe the man who brought her in porn knew about the porn industry worked. So it is very sinister for people using each others for their own agenda. Sasha grey did it her own way so that porn or mainstream find any substantial fault towards her. She knows she may need porn if mainstream acting fail. It is all about business gain and fame. I do hope Belladonna and Kimberly Kane act in mainstream films. Why? This is because they are very real in all her porn acting. I believe if a porn actress can successfully come across as a real performer like Belladonna or Kimberly Kane in porn, they can be a good actresses in mainstream. But normally this people are usually very true to themselves and not much publicity. Can consider as underrated porn actresses.

Last I checked, she not so long ago blamed her Ex for getting her into porn and making her do things she didn't want to do. If that isn't going back on her word, and going ahead with bashing and blaming porn....I don't know what is. I try to remain quiet on Sasha Grey's topic on these forums now...because there are still some fanboys living in fantasy land, who try to say that I have some sort of an agenda against her or something. I just called her out on her bullshit in the very beginning (i started out as a fan of her early porn) , but after a very short time....realized her game.
No wonder after spending years upon years trying to make it in mainstream, no one knows of her there. Anyone who says they like her acting, or she can act....need a brain transplant or take off those tinted glasses.

You "try" . . . give me a fucking break. You never fail to post yet another negative comment about her any time anyone bumps one of her threads. It's as predictable as Old Faithful.
Yeah, yeah, no one in mainstream knows of her. Here she is starring in a movie, top--billed with a guy whose films have grossed over $1.7 billion, but no one in mainstream knows her.

It made $1,750 at the box-office, has a 33% rotten tomatoes rating and an even lower 18% audience approval rating. Basically it's straight to video garbage that very few people have bothered to see.
Still, she has enough of a name now that, I don't think she will have too much problem landing roles in "mainstream" B-movies along the lines of low budget horror and thriller stuff. It's not like she has to be an A-list Hollywood star in order to make respectable money acting. I don't see anything more than that though, because she really is a terrible actress with zero on-screen charisma.

and count on Hari to come to the rescue of his beloved, right? :) Even if that was true Hari, I haven't been paying people to come to this realization themselves after an unbiased observation and bring it up themselves. She herself went back on everything she supposedly believed in, and when she couldn't get decent roles and recognition....did the same thing other ex pornstars did, which she said she'd never do....shit on the porn industry. So it wasn't her making all those big statements, changing the porn industry, and common man's outlook on porn and all that bullshit. She simply said it was her ex boyfriend, who forced her to do extreme and violent things in porn which she didn't want to do. Now even you would have a hard time defending that.
Btw, if that's your idea of success in mainstream....starring in a low budget straight to dvd movie which made 20 dollars, then no point in even talking to you about this. No wonder so many B list STARS commit suicide or smoke themselves retarded. She's an "Actress" who can't act. Not hard to see why she never made it.
"Sasha Grey says she was lured into porn by a violent and abusive ex-BF – who convinced her he was a military spy who needed her for “cover” … and now she fears he’s come back to hurt her." I mean, LOLL The face of Intelligence and intellect in porn, right there.

^I don't think she ever said she was forced or that there was no non enjoyment on the whole. I read those stories as the classic pressuring boyfriend. Doesn't mean that there was not some agency on her part.

Right, how about the fact that she herself proved I as well as many others, were right about her all along, by that statement. Another fun read for you, almost a couple of years ago now....and no, it wasn't me who wrote it nor do I run these websites.

Btw, someone who claimed to take her time in researching, and plan out what she set out to do (mentioned in my last post), saying now that it was her violent boyfriend all along who made her do porn....that should tell you just how sincere or honest she was, about everything or anything.
