Hi,

I was wondering if it´s a secret where our favorite companies have their DVDs produced. Do they use the same reproduction compnies ? Do they use the same authoring software ? Feel free to share your knowledge

(hint on) maybe that´ll explain the DVD problems with several players (hint off)

cube,

I don't think it's necessarily a secret, but most likely something that most viewers probably just wouldn't be interested in.

However, Evil Angle usually gives that information in the credits, and iirc they use DVD Demon.

From a few comments that Tricia Devereaux has posted in the forum, it could very well be that some of the problems we see do come from the producers of the DVD.

But I'm not an expert on those matters either.

Evil Angel does use DVD Demon for final authoring, but they use a different company for replication. In fact, they recently changed replication companies because they discovered that their old one was producing discs that indeed caused problems on some players. Many times, the replication company used can be determined by looking around the inside circle of the DVD itself. The authorer, however, is often times not readily determinable.

Like DD said, I don't think it's a secret though... And problem discs can be caused at several steps in the DVD process. Determining where it is can be a bit tricky sometimes.
