Hello everyone. :) First things first, let it be known that I am not pretending to be a "true" member of this community. Additionally, I am not here to promote myself, a product, a company, or anything else. I created this account as a business professional genuinely interested in getting your opinions on a question I have, which could potentially lead to mutually beneficial outcomes in the future. That all being said, I DO work for a large adult company that has relationships with very popular adult studios (no need to mention who though). So, without further ado, here is my question:
To your knowledge, is there interest in this community (or other adult DVD communities in general) in seeing adult titles from popular studios on VOD before they are "officially released" for purchase on DVD? Or is this type of thinking completely missing the point of the existing Adult DVD communities? Put another way, I am specifically trying to gauge whether or not you all are more interested in the collection/ownership/possession aspects of Adult DVDs, or the ability to see the newest titles from your favorite studios as soon as possible, ie "hot off the press"...or, is it both?
Any feedback is much appreciated! I realize there is a subjective element to this question, however I am still thinking there might be a general consensus amongst you all that points one way or another.
Looking forward to hearing your responses!
Thanks,
br00kach00k

Personally no. If I am going to drop the money on a title, I like to own it, so I can watch it again whenever I choose (which goes for mainstream as well as adult films) without having to pay again or continue to pay for it. That means I go the DVD/Blu-ray route.

I stopped buying DVDs several years ago. Why should I still buy DVDs when I can get the same content in a much better quality (=resolution)? I have permanent subscriptions to a number of websites (Brazzers, Evil Angel, Jules Jordan, Hard X and others) and still spend less money than when I used to buy DVDs. I haven't used VOD yet.

I stopped buying porn on DVD years ago as I feel I get better value for money with website subscriptions.
I agree on Flash's comment about 'owning' the content. I won't subscribe to streaming sites, the content absolutely must be downloadable without DRM encoding so I have the freedom to watch it when I want.

I buy DVDs although it's getting more difficult because stores keep cutting back on their inventory.

Sounds like it's the limited viewing window of VOD content that you dislike then?

Would the ability to access titles from your fav studios not yet release on DVD be enough to spark your interest in purchasing a VOD title? Or is the draw of seeing content "hot off the press" not enough to justify the limited viewing window in your opinion?

This seems like a popular opinion. Totally makes sense to me...

Question remains though, does the idea of seeing titles from your favorite studios on VOD before being release on DVD have any appeal? Or do you agree with the idea that long term ownership and accessibility of a title is what's most important to you?

There's so much stuff coming out all the time, I have no problem to wait until a scene can be downloaded from the official website. On Evil Angel you can usually stream scenes several days before the download becomes available (usually on the day the DVD is released). I always wait for the download.
