Hey all,

I bought a couple dvds on ADM from 3 diff sellers in the same order. 2 sellers I've dealt with before & 1 was new.

Anyone ever heard the quote "if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is?"

I got an incredible deal (or so I thought) from ADM seller: u_showcase. I bought the new Vivid release Emperor on 9/13/06 - with the follwing description:

Title: Emperor (Vivid)
Condition: New
Comments: Brand new, factory sealed. Ships immediately.
Price: $ 1.44
Delivery Method: Standard Shipping
Seller: u_showcase

Sounded like a killer deal, right? From memory, he only had 30 or so listings, no feedback yet, & only a couple of titles with such a lowball price, etc. Anyway, the next day I wanted to see what else he had for sale & couldn't find him in the seller listing.

I emailed their ADM customer service about why I couldn't find him in the seller search list & this was their reply:

"Yes, this seller account has been closed due to fraudulent activity. However, your order should have gone through and you should still be expecting your DVD. If within 3 weeks of your order you have not received your DVD, please let me know and I will issue a refund!"

OK... now I'm thinking they closed it for fraudulent activity, but I should still expect my dvd? Yeah, right. The only fraud I can remotely see is that the cc they had on file to BUY dvds was stolen, etc. You don't have to have a cc on file to sell dvd's (at least that's the way it was when I signed up).

So I replied to ADM & asked "What does that mean?"

Their reply was: "The activity is of a private nature, and I cannot share any other information with you. I hope this is of some help in your original question - the seller is no longer active."

A. How is it a private nature when I'm directly involved in not getting the dvd I ordered, nor a response from the seller?

B. In addition, I have to wait 3 weeks before I can ask for a refund from a seller who ADM closed their account for fraudulent reasons?

I guess getting back the point - really, I was just wondering if any adultdvdtalkers bought anything from u_showcase on ADM or had a similar experience with another ADM seller.

Any thoughts?

I think the fraud in this case doesn't have anything to do with a credit card. Just a guess but I would think the "fraud" was a seller taking orders for something and never shipping out the items.

The three week time period is the typical shipping delay for orders shipped via media mail. If the seller was shipping only some of their orders it could take up to 3 weeks to figure out which ones were fulfilled and which weren't.

Another potential fraudulent transaction is a seller that's shipping bootleg copies of movies.

I also bought something from this seller, feeling that it might be "too good to be true" but I decided to test my luck, figuring I shouldn't be so distrustful and I do trust ADM, so I figure if it's not on the up and up, then they'd take care of things hopefully. I suppose I may have to contact them on it after a few weeks myself.

And no, I've never had a problem with a seller in that way before. I suppose we'll see, but now I'm not feeling very good about it.

thanks for the news.

Yeah, I used my seller credit for that order, so it wasn't so bad. I know ADM will make good on the deal, it just seemed wrong for them to withold info when I'm part of the transaction. It's not like I could do anything with additional details anyway - I only have the sellers email, no name, city, etc.

hey XYZ1406

I know that was frustrating. The 3 weeks was "just in case" type thing. I agree with you, and I am willing to bet now that it never came. It seems they would have made an exception for you considering your reputation as a seller. I hope things were made right.

What was meant by "private" was the nature of the offender's activity, etc. It's for liability reasons only. If you tracked him down or something, ADM could be held responsible. Not the best example, but kind of like how the Jenny Jones show was held liable when a person on the show killed another person because they were embarrassed by the show.
