This feature is broken in most of the forums. It seems to be OK in the little-used shopping forums. As for the rest, I get an 'error processing page' message every time, and I've tried LOTS of times.

This is a very handy feature for 'cleaning up' the threads I don't want to read, so this sudden loss of functionality is very annoying.

I had trouble with that for the last few days. I had to use the one for all the forums to clean them up. After using the main one the ones within the forums themselves seems to work fine.

it's broken for people that read a lot of threads. I need to change the indexes on the table. There's four separate indexes being used and it takes a while to update them along with the data when setting all topics read. There's like 1.2 million rows in that table.

I've changed it to only keep track of what topics each user has read for the past 7 days instead of the past 30.

The real problem is that I'm keeping track of topics that have been read for all forum visitors, even those that aren't logged in and have 'temporary IDs' (for lack of a better term). I also don't distinguish between actual users and search engine crawlers so if Google, Yahoo and MSN are all fetching pages from the forum there's a ton of useless topic reads being written to the table. I need to spend some time fixing this.

now there's only 382k rows in the table. data is 366MB and indexes are down to 106 MB.
