The first time I stretched I took about a year and 1/2 to get to around 5/8. I took them out eventually for about 8 months. They shrunk down to about an 8 or 10. The second time I went to stretch I only got to 1/2 inch, my ears really were not cooperative. Knowing that Id probably never be able to achieve the size I wanted with out blowouts I opted to use the scalpel method. And since I had so little lobe we took teeny slivers of the cartilage out. Usually when you cut you end up healing super fast. Maybe a week at the most. However, since we took out the cartilage it took an INTENSE month and 1/2 of nursing my ears to health. [Link]
