I read in the media today that a fraternity that took part in one of the Shane's World college porn series has been suspended. To me, it's inappropriate for Shane's World to use college students or college property for the purpose of commercial gain without the express approval of the university. Someone needs to pull the reins in on Shane's World in relation to this issue.

If the fraternity allows them doesn't the frat then become responsible for their actions?
I'm just not sure any university would welcome Shane's World, or any other adult production studio, with open arms.

I'm with Ejac here...

I mean these 'kids' are 18 - 21. Plenty old enough to decide what they want and what they don't want. Personally I don't see the big to-do about it, I mean I'd rather my kid fucking a porn star than getting drunk out of his mind....

Students are not employees of the University. Rather they are private individuals that bought a service from the university.

They are adults. They can sign waivers and choose to do these things. They certainly don't need permission from the University to be in porn.

I haven't watched this series, but what parts take part on University property? A frat house is usually not owned by the University itself, but the fraternity. Therefore the University still doesn't have any say.

Now if the frat broke part of its charter with the school, there may be consequences.

croy seems correct here. The students are private individuals and the frat house is private property. For that reason, they have the right to do so. It may not be the smartest thing they've ever done - but they did have the right.

The problem lies in the fact that I'm sure such activities do indeed, break some sort of charter with the University. Thats why the University's only avenue of redress has to be aimed at the Frat and not at Shane's World, who in fact did nothing wrong if they avoided using school property. Trust me, if they could go after Shane's World, they would!

Its very much like Playboy and its "Girls of..." series. The colleges and companies may not like this sort of exposure, but their only real complaints have got to be with the women who choose to participate - not with the publication for giving them opportunity to do so.

I personally still wonder why they call it Shane's World since Shane has nothing to do with this serie anymore and it's not her world anymore. It's false advertisement.

A fraternity isn't just an entity unto itself but has associations, historical and otherwise, with the university. It's a bit glib to say that these students were adults and that's that. Shane's World should have thought twice about its actions. Responsibility lies with Shane's World, not the students.

Yeah, nobody should ever have to take responsibility for their own actions. The frat saying "No" wouldn't have done anything at all, either. How about a little reality instead?

If Shane's World is the pro-active party in all this then it's Shane's World who should take responsibility. Even porn companies should be able to use common sense when deciding where and what to shoot.

I saw a Miko Lee gangbang that was filmed in a frat house. A bunch of the college kids were sitting off to the side wide-eyed as this woman was pounded mercilessly by an array of men. It was deeply disturbing to me, and I wept afterwards as I wiped myself up. Why does this sort of thing take place? Why? Why is our world like this? Why?

But Disney hasn't changed, it's still the legacy of Walt Disney while Shane's World is just a porn-title which they could adjust with no problem. I mean all I want to know is why is Shane still in the title when she already retired years ago and is not connected with the title or company in any way.

Go Shanes World!!!! I only wish they would edit out the screaming, the guys and have the girls getting banged instead. It's all up to the students, they're not kids. And if the university care so much they should stop giving the series so much publicity.

If I'm not mistaken, these frats call Shane's World to do the parties... So should stripers be off limits too? As Astro said, what about keggers?

I can't agree with Asro enough here, this is a matter of responsibility on the frats end - not Shane's World. If the frat cared about associations, they wouldn't do it...

I still don't see what's wrong with these college guys fucking porn stars. It's not like they are doing crack or some other illegal activities, they are fucking for crying out loud which goes on without without the cameras.... (just not with porn stars )

Yep. You got it.

Let's see now - Shane's World used people over 18. Yep, that's responsible.

Shane's World got permission for the location from those with the authority to give it - that would be the frat.
Yep, that's responsible.

Common sense says not to break the law, use adults, and get permission. Yep, looks like they used common sense too.

It is good to see that you have an understanding of it now.

I've seen efforts to make a controversy in the media about the college "invasions," and such. Given all the gang rapes, alcohol poisonings and hazing fatalities, hush-hush incidents, etc., that occur at Frat Houses, a little nookie from Ashley Blue seems mild and almost humanistic in comparison. If it wasn't Shane's World getting these guys in trouble it would be something else. Of course, administrators don't want to see it, because it's a stain on their reputations. But my sense is that most of the schools are dumb-ass diploma factories with scarce interest in academics, just generating tuition funds to keep the mill churning. Parents are just happy to get Junior out of the house after 18 years, and if they can warehouse their dopey spawn at State U's Kappa Alpha pig trough for 4 years, life is good. All kids do in college is fuck, get drunk, take drugs and plagiarize term papers. And then Dad gets them a gig anyway. At least Shane's World gives them the occasion to meet peers who actually have to work for a living.

Not sure if anyone here saw the documentary of Lisa Gier King but it gave me an idea how frat guys spent their time and money. It was sick beyond words.

Personally I think it would be cool if the people behind Shane's World would visit a home for the elderly instead and let the old men there have sex with the girls, just like what Rocco did with Kelly in Dirty Anal Kelly in Rome #2. For me that would be more interesting instead of seeing annoying frat guys.

That's a mighty big "If" there, arthur . Even the Frat admitted in the press that they contacted Shan'es World .

Shane's World took responsibility for their part: obtaining permission from the house authorities, verifying age, getting signed releases, covering all their legal tasks. The students were the ones who ultimately had total say in whether or not this movie was made on their premises, and they are actually taking responsibility for that decision. (nice to see that for once)

Seems to me that although it probably wasn't the smartest move they've ever made and I'm sure their National Chapter will not condone this, the school and the rest of us should have more important concerns re: education to occupy our time.

I had a problem with this when they continued the "Shane's World" series without Shane. I felt (and still feel) that they were intentionally deceiving the customers (especially in the beginning when the continued to list Shane as the Director).

However, what they are doing now is exactly what was supposed to happen when Shane sold the company (according to Shane). When the company was sold, there were other series besides "Shane's World" that were being produced by other people (Pornological is one that comes to mind). These other lines were going to continue under the Shane's World company brand. Supposedly, these other lines didn't do so well, so they continued the "Shane's World" series.

Now they have new lines like "College Invasion", "Asian Vacation" and "College Guide to Anal Sex", I have no problem with what they are doing. It was what they supposedly agreed to when they bought the company from Shane.

Shane sold the rights to her series, and the series name. There was an article in Rolling Stone magazine about this, around a year ago. Shane said in the article that she wouldn't have gone to the frat houses, after seeing some of the trouble it caused.

It is glib? Wow, write this one down guys, yesterday I managed to be glib!
Okay, so you are saying the students aren't adults that are free to make their own decisions. Shane's World should do their thinking for them. Because, after all, it is Shane's World that has to go to school their.
Why don't you call they DA and see if they will press statutory rape charges? Or even rape since they must not have actually consented to pussy.
Grow up. Really. Eighteen may not be a mature age, but legally it is adulthood. Nobody else has responsibility for their choises - like drinking.
Hey, if they get laid off camera, does that mean that (those) women raped them too?

These students weren't forced to do anything. It is like the calories in fast food thing. If you eat a Big Mac Extra Value meal every day and get heart disease, it will be all your fault. Your choice.

Get a grip (the other kind).

Its not really the students, but more our college administrators, who take an initiative approach..

I think it's sleazy of Shane's World to potentially put students' education at risk with these self-serving forays into fraternities and college campuses. The people at Shane's World don't exactly give the porn industry a good name when they do this.

Since when is it a producer's job to "give the porn industry a good name"? And if you assert that it is, just how would you suggest a producer go about doing this?

A bad name according to who? No offense but when a company sells video of people engaging in what is deemed by many as "fornication", sex with multiple partners at one time, orgies, and sodomy among other sex acts, I don't think their good staining in the public's eye is their primary motivation. Their bottom line is how much money they can make from it. They are getting alot of promotion from this venture. When brittney was on the show she was wearing all types of clothing that advertised the movie and I think this attention will translate to increased sales.

This is somewhat unfourtunate in my opinion, and I think school administrators will take a greater interest in how their fraterties represent their schools. But that's how businesses prosper, by giving consumers what they want. If people don't want to see this type of behavior in a school setting, they'll vote with their wallets and we won't see it any more.
Since this companies' prime motivation is making money, if you don;t like what they are doing then I suggest that you vote with your wallet too and not buy anymore shane worlds videos in protest. That will do at least as much good as complaining about it here.

Sorry but Shane's World should know full well the potential negative consequences to the students involved in this. It's not the first time Shane's World has done it, so pleading naivety is no defense.

These are real-life forays into fraternities and colleges, not make-believe. If it was make-believe I wouldn't have a problem with it. Shane's World needs to get its act together.

Looking at your past posts and refusal to accept any point of view other than the one you go in with, you should probably avoid the thinking. It's obviously not your strong point.
Actually, the people at Shane's World seem to have a pretty darn good name in the porn industry that's been pretty well deserved.

This is a classis example of the type of "thinking" that is so prevalent anymore.
Individuals are no longer responsible for what they do - it is always somebody else's fault.

Look at what you said: "Shane's World ... put ..." .
So Shane's World did it to them, eh?
The students didn't do it to themselves??

If you had said something along the lines of, "I don't think it is a good thing for Shane's World TO PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY for these young people to blah, blah, blah..." ,
then this would be a whole different thing. It would just be about your opinion, and of course you - everybody - is allowed that.
If you meant something more like this, fine. Unfortunately, that is not what you said.

Ummm, yeah. There are a few assholes out there who want to hold beer companies responsible for people who get drunk and, blame restaurants for people who get fat.

It's the whole "anti-personal responsibility" crowd. Nothing is thier fault. It's the fault of somebody else. These people should have the shit kicked out of them while the "shit kicker" blames the whineyness of the "shit kickee" to avoid accepting responsibility for the "shit kicking".

Assholes, huh?
Fine by me - that's a good descriptive term for them. :)
Reminds me of those that want to blame Smith & Wesson for the actions of people using their product. Maybe we should call them stupid assholes, since they demonstrate an inability to think logically.
In the past ten years, have you had a job where you had to deal with the general public, - a lot ? I have. I realize that I'm getting older, but some of the behaviour that I have seen is just ridiculous. I'm amazed at times.

I believe the problem is rooted in this generation of parents attitudes. Ever have to deal with delinquent behaviour from a minor? possibly even a misdemeanor crime?
99% of the time, instead of a 'thank you' for your trouble,
the parent will react with a 'Screw you! it is YOUR fault my kid is in trouble' .

Now what does this kid become in another 5 or 10 years?

Actually, it's something that my company has had to deal with directly. However, in our case, it wasn't necessarily their kids. It's a matter of these same people not taking any responibility for the illnesses of their elderly parents or even their own actions.

When I was in college, the drinking age was 19, but the university banned all drinking on campus, no matter the age of the student. Of course people drank anyway, and resented the in loco parentis doctrine of the university. Also, at that time, there were no co-ed dorms, and you could get expelled for being in a dorm of the other gender after 10pm. That rule didn't exactly keep people from mating.

Things change. It's really hard for a university to watch 30,000 kids and keep them all from doing things that are legal.

Look , I think you're all missing the big picture here : why isn't there any boy on boy action in these flicks ? Huh ? When you think about it the answer's obvious : Shane . I've never seen a film so clearly homophobic . "Shane , come back Shane ." And did he ? No fucking way ! He knew what that was all about and he wasn't having any of it . In fact I'm pretty sure that was the point at which it all went wrong for Western culture as a whole . If we could just go back and rewrite that last scene everything would finally make sense , gay culture would be acceptably mainstream , and lions and lambs would not only lay down together they'd start fucking like rabbits . It's the answer we've been searching for all this time and have finally stumbled upon in the most unlikely of places . My sincerest apologies to anyone who read all of this paragraph !

No, they don't.

Walt had two daughters. One died, the other one is married to Ron Miller who was ousted from running the company in the early '80s.

Walt's brother Roy had one son, also named Roy (different middle initial, though) who resigned from teh Disney Board of Directors a few years ago and set up a Website called SaveDisney (http://savedisney.com/) so he isn't involved either.

--t
who knows Disney pretty well.
