There is also a free shipping option available when you have 3 or more titles in an order.

The shipping charge for 3 DVDs was 5.99 (I think that's moved up in line with recent rate increases by the Post Office). What amazed me was when I added a 4th DVD to my cart, shipping charges went from 5.99 to 8.40. 2.40 for 1 additional DVD? This was a used DVD to boot, so that blew a lot of the savings I would have received by purchasing it used. I simply ended up taking the 4th DVD out of my cart and just ordered 3 instead. Maybe I'm just being a cheapskate, but an additional 2.40 in shipping charges for just 1 more DVD seems a bit much. I guess the point here is that I wish X-Rent could work out a system for Used DVD purchases so that the savings still make them a good deal when shipping costs are taken into account.

The postage rates are even odder for other mail classes. At my company, it's cheaper for us to mail two packages, each less than a pound than it is for us to mail one package that's 1.1 pounds. So, when we can, we will split ship orders to save that postage. Edited by - Bill on 5/15/2007 7:34:25 PM |
