I gotta get in on this one, cuz these speak ot my two passions in porn, big booty women, and videography.

Generally speaking, I'm fairly happy with Slayer's (and Nevaquit's) camera\editing work, but I will agree with bigdiesal on one important point. For those of us who are passionate about thick, or big booty women in our porn, and that's pretty much all I watch, camera angles and camera view is critical. And when shooting porn featuring thick women, for thick women lovers, Cardinal Rule #1 is, "wider perspective is always better than in-tight perspective."

Don't get me wrong, ALL perspectives have value and should be present in a good porn scene, but the reason that many of us, (or at least me anyway), choose a particualr genre, or follow a particular porn girl, is that we want to see her, and the attributes she brings. Interminable in-tight genitalia shots are pretty worthless to that end.

As far as camera movement and scene transitions, some of that is the cameraman, some of it is editing. It's much more preferable to me to have the aspect move via the cameraman panning from one view to another, than to have jumps and cuts in aspect performed by editing. I would rather see the cameraman go from an in-tight facial shot, back and through a full body view, to an in-tight genital shot, than see editing cuts just from the face to the genitals. I like when the cameraman walks while panning around the action to get to different aspects, rather than just getting there through editing.

The important thing is that I think most of us want more, and longer, full body, (complete boy and girl) perspectives, than in-tight, genitalia or facial perspectives. Want to see people fucking and the body movement that goes with that, rather than just parts.

Like I said earlier, I'm pretty satisfied with Slayer's work. Since he and Nat are such good fucks, and Slayer is a narcissist and a ham on camera, (in a good way, pretty much required to be a star), they do a pretty good job of providing full body action shots in their scenes. But there's always room for improvement. I was soooo disappointed in the Macy Lane bonus scene in "Big Booty White Girls 2" , because I didn't get to see enough of that thick body, for all the closeups, but the Sophia Costello scene in "Big Booty Revenge" was shot wonderfully to me.

I think Slayer and Nevaquit provide scenes that are equal to, and in most cases better, than the others in the genre that I like.

The guys over at Evasive Angles are doing a MUCH BETTER job than they used to at shooting nice scenes, that maximize the women's appeal. Their problem has always been weak fucking from their stable of studs. But as far as giving us the type of big booty girls we want, and displaying them to good effect, T.T., Mark Anthony and Darren James are doing a good job. I know however, that after I see some girl I fall in love with in an Evasive joint, I'm probably gonna see her get fucked better in an Evil Angel joint.

I have grown frustrated to no end by the crew over at WCP. Director Lee G. in particular. Terry Burton's "Bomb Ass White Booty" and "Azz and Mo Ass series are done well, shot nicely and generally deliver. But Lee G. looks like he just doesn't care anymore about the "Phat Azz White Girls" series, which is the holy grail of big booty series to me. It's almost criminal to see the stuff he is putting out. I was so pumped and excited about "PAWG 20" , cuz it had a scene with my two all time favorites, Victoria Butts and Sara Jay . IN THE SAME SCENE. How could you possibly fuck that up? They did. The scene looked like it was shot by an 8th grader in a cave. It was a mess. I didn't know where to start. The lighting, poor camera angles, four people on too small a bed in too small a room, the problems were endless. The Sophie Dee scene was bad too. It just looked amateurish, and Lee G's stuff has been that way for awhile.

Same with the "Big Butt Brotha Lovers" series over at EXP. Started out great, but just looks trashy, now. Poor camera work, poor editing, poor production.

And don't get me started on Channel 69. I go through a lot of trash there, just looking for girls that I like.

Shoot simultaneosly with a 2,3,4 cameras - it's ok to continue shooting handheld with camera #1 but the other cameras should be mounted on tripods for the purpose of capturing fixed tableaus or "master shots" of the action.

Next and importantly, don't edit all this together, don't mix footage from cameras. What you do is include ALL footage onto the DVD as separate angles that viewers can switch between like different channels (a la Digital Playground's Virtual Sex).

Viola, everybody's happy. I want to see a 15 minute shot of Sunny Lane's or Cytherea's face in close up, maybe one day when shooting with 15 cameras at the same time is the norm I'll get my wish! But you may need Blue Ray to fit all this data onto a single disc.

Whenever HJ(aka nevaquit)is shooting a scene...its seems like he's more focused on Justin than the girls. I only saw a clip of "Big Booty Revenge" yesterday after finishing watching Buttman's superb "Anal Show 2" Suddenly, I found that my cock was all deflated and I just wasn't getting turned on very much by BBR. You'll get A LOT of disagreement on this one. ANd not just from me. On many of the previous threads that have touched on the topic of camera and editing work in porn, we have discussed this.

NO ONE loves big, phat, bootyliscious, asses more than I do, and that is basically the only porn I watch. Which means I have most of Slayer's "Big Booty..." and "Mami Culo Grande" movies, not to mention a fair number of Stagliano's and Jordan's movies. Any filmmaker who emphasizes phat booty is in my niche.

But that notwithstanding, at the end of the day for many of us, porn is about PEOPLE fucking, and not compartmentalized body parts. I think that in a big booty flick, the emphasis, and focus should obviously be on the booty, but extended shots of just a disembodied booty gets very tiresome, not to mention the extended closeup genitailia and penetration shots, which are downright boring. I need to see faces, I need to see whole body shots, and I need to see whole people fucking and sucking.

If the problem is herky-jerky camera work, or too many quick cuts and cutaways, or too many bad angles that don't give the best perspectives, I'm in full agreement with you there. Likewise if the problem manifests in editing, with too much facial closeup, as opposed to booty love, or too much jumping from one perspective to another, instead of panning, I'll buy that as well.

But if your desire is an entire or even close to an entire scene of a camera fixated on a booty, in lieu of an overall fuck experience that gloriously displays and emphasizes a big booty, then that's where our tastes diverge. To that end, I'm for the most part cool with the way Slayer's scenes are shot, although I share the complaints of sometimes unsteady camera work and a sense that the camera should get to a perspective and stay there a little longer sometimes. I liked most of "Big Booty Revenge" , and was satisfied with it.

I like GIRLS WITH big booties, and that's what I want to see, not just disembodied booties.

And don't get me started on anal toys, and gaping. I don't need that at all in my porn, and think gaping is pretty stupid, but that's just a personal opinion. I like Jules Jordan movies, and he does that a lot, so it's just something that I can fast forward through.
