Hi all,
I am sure this topic comes up every-so-often but I am wondering what kind of movies are good for couples. I am thinking nothing hardcore. She indicated that she is willing to watch something like "original sin" or "the unfaithful" and things like that. I haven't seen 'original sin' but 'the unfaithful' had some pretty hot scenes in my opinion.
So, I am not that familiar with too many 'erotic' movies...Pretty much the only semi-clean stuff I know of are Shannon Tweed movies like 'A Woman Scorned' which is sexy in my opinion, but I don't know from a woman's perspective.
So what do you guys/gals think? I would abandon this if I think that she is not comfortable...and I definitely don't want her to feel like she is competing with the female actors. I know she is sensitive about that stuff, and I just want her to get turned on (so I don't mind the movie being focused on the guy or something like that---but I draw the line at gay porn :)
EDIT: I am leaning towards 'All About Anna'
Basically, you were to watch an erotic movie, which would you choose? (and please don't say twilight)
Any advice is appreciated (especially from the women),
Thanks,
EDIT2: Just in case others wind up in this topic, these are the movies my research yielded:
- All About Anna
- Petra Joy movies such as "Sexual Sushi" and "Female Fantasies"
- Five Hot Stories For Her
- I am not sure about this one yet, but I would think it should work: "Straight Guys for Gay Eyes" which is basically a guy and a girl, but shot for Gay guys? If women have anything like like the desire of gay men, maybe it will work?

^ I would avoid All About Anna, but I guess it depends on taste. I found it really cold and clinical, not to mention boring. That's the risk you run trying to find porn for "women" when in reality, women are a diverse bunch. Go to the website hotmoviesforher.com and see what they've got going on. Most of what they talk about is hardcore, mind (as in, the true meaning of hardcore -- unsimulated sex. When you say you don't want hardcore, you mean you want simulated Cinemaz style movies? Or hardcore that isn't violent/extreme?).

Y Tu Mama Tambien and Sex and Lucia Unfaithful had some hot scenes. They should have cast Bill Pullman as the cheated-on hubby. Who the hell would cheat on Richard Gere? Oh, and it should have been directed by Kathryn Bigelow and called The Hurt Snow Globe.

Thanks, I will check out Sex and Lucia and Y Tu Mama Tambien.
What I meant about hardcore is that I should start her off with something that maybe doesn't show explicit penetration, or if it does, it wouldn't be violent/extreme (you know, classily shot). That's why I appreciate the Shannon Tweed movies, she makes a scene scorching for a guy, even though she didn't show much. I am not sure what the equivalent of that would be for women...
The basic question is what would be a good movie which contains a fair bit of sexual content/tension. I agree with lilacwine, unfaithful had both of those and it was pretty hot in my (a guys) opinion.

^ I see. I agree about Unfaithful - I think a lot of that film was designed to appeal to middle-aged women, but I seem to remember the ending was kinda objectionable (i.e. women might find it condemnatory). I might be wrong - I can't remember, I just have a feeling.

Off the top of my head:
The Lover (1992)
Henry and June (1990)
Walk on the Moon (1999)
Bitter Moon (1992)
Breve traversee (2001)
Young Adam (2003)
I second Unfaithful and Sex and Lucia
The thing with mainstream movies is that the beginning of the film will be very sexual, filled with tension and heat. Passionate affairs usually do not end well so the final act can be a turn off.
