This is a bit off topic, but I know there are a lot of professionals in here and some very knowledgable people, so I wanted to see if someone could help...

I am an experienced businessman who is pondering a startup in a porn production company. What I would like to know first, if anyone can help, is what is the bast way to sell our content to maximize income with the least inhouse costs?

What I mean is this, we want to do the shoots, video and photography, and then get the content out as fast as we can. What is the best way to do this? Is it common in the industry to have distributors who buy content from providers and take care of the delivery end? Can a reasonable profit be realized this way? Or is it more standard for companies to both produce and deliver in one shop?

If we can shoot the videos and pictures and then turn around and sell it to websites, DVD houses, etc. this is how I'd like to start out since it would significantly reduce the startup costs. Later down the road I'd be interested in finding webhosts that can provide package deals to get sites up and running quick.

Are their such things as DVD package shops that take the content and package it and provide the distribution etc. ?

I don't expect someone to answer all these newbie questions. I wanted to list them out so people would know what information I am interested in in general. I am happy to do my homework if someone can point me to the right resources for studying up on how the industry works for content distribution.
