Fortunatly, we havn't gotten to the point where sex is dull yet, but I hear horror stories.

What do you do?

I'm afraid we are too adventursome now, we should save some for later or something. lol

You always hear about couples that have a wild (swinging)sex life after 10 to 15 years for marriage because they're bored with each other. It makes you wonder. I fear the same thing... after several years... am I going to be bored with sex? Impossible... I'm a Scorpio. Hopefully Kapalua won't get bored of me. Nah... she'll be in her sexual peak by then.

I'm not sure about the swinging thing, but as a "single but dating like I'm married" guy, I can say that yes, things do tend to taper off in frequency after the first few years. It never gets any less exciting, just less frequent. I have been in prior long-term relationships where things did get less exciting, and from what I could tell, the reason was that we weren't admitting a lot of things that were happening around us (which was why we split up also).

Heavily editorializing, I must say that what keeps a healthy sex life alive is either complete mystery or an honest, interesting relationship. Mystery tends to wear off after you get to know each other, but some things we've done to keep the relationship interesting is to talk about how we feel about each other and other people. One thing we've never done (which I have seen other couples do) is say to each other "I only have eyes for you" or "I don't get attracted to other women sexually." While the gesture is classically romantic, it's just plain not true. What we have done is do what some platonic close friends do often, which is discreetly mention men or women we pass by on the street as particularly exciting, checking them quietly and then later talking about what it is that we thought was so enticing about the strangers we saw.

It sounds counterintuitive, but talking about how horny strange people get us actually makes having sex with each other more fun. Having these discussions also, ironically, makes us feel more secure that the other isn't going to leave.

We haven't really done anything adventurous in the sense that we don't get dressed up, role play, do bondage, or have sex in public places, but we do try as many positions and orifices as possible, and play with lots of toys.

We are also in a variation of an "open" relationship, and while that adds a bit to the excitement and sense of freedom, it's sharing our attraction for others which keeps our libidos alive.

I usually add a little cayenne or paprika. Sometimes ground chillies help to keep it spicy.
