Mystery tends to wear off after you get to know each other, but some things we've done to keep the relationship interesting is to talk about how we feel about each other and other people. One thing we've never done (which I have seen other couples do) is say to each other "I only have eyes for you" or "I don't get attracted to other women sexually." While the gesture is classically romantic, it's just plain not true. What we have done is do what some platonic close friends do often, which is discreetly mention men or women we pass by on the street as particularly exciting, checking them quietly and then later talking about what it is that we thought was so enticing about the strangers we saw. It sounds counterintuitive, but talking about how horny strange people get us actually makes having sex with each other more fun. Having these discussions also, ironically, makes us feel more secure that the other isn't going to leave. We haven't really done anything adventurous in the sense that we don't get dressed up, role play, do bondage, or have sex in public places, but we do try as many positions and orifices as possible, and play with lots of toys. We are also in a variation of an "open" relationship, and while that adds a bit to the excitement and sense of freedom, it's sharing our attraction for others which keeps our libidos alive. |
