Not really sex related, but it's close!

I've been trying to come up with the best way to succinctly express the following to a lady whom I haven't spoken with at all:

1. You seem like you'd be someone I'd like to get to know, based only on your body language and the way you interact with other people. In other words, I'm not just interested in your for your looks, even though I haven't had a conversation with you.

2. I'd actually like to get know you, so that maybe we could have a deeper relationship.

Unfortunately, the best thing I've been able to come up with so far is "You're really interesting, and I don't mean your body. Could we go out for lunch so I can find out what an interesting person you might be?" See? Horrible. On the one hand, I want to have the cool one-liner without seeming like some smarmy dude who uses one-liners. On the other hand I don't want to come off like Woody Allen. And I'm not nearly cute enough to pull off a Hugh Grant stammering thing.

SmoothNSlow - my advice would be to just approach her & ask her if she'd like to have lunch with you sometime, period. Don't worry about a smooth line or talk about a deeper relationship (scary from someone you've never even talked to). Besides, you could find out at lunch that she's as dumb as a fence post, or has one of those whiney voices!
I went to a movie last night with a guy I met in my local supermarket, even though I had sworn to myself I was going to take a time-out, not date for awhile (mainly because I've been so busy at work & just don't have the time or energy to devote to a love relationship right now). So, I was surprised myself when I said yes, but I think it was because of his direct, no frills (no pressure) approach. But now I'm wondering, if he calls & wants to see me again, should I go? He was funny, intelligent, & cute. Is it fair to him to just go out "as friends"? But then, what if he doesn't call? Crap, I hate this stuff!

Smooth, I agree with Blondie, too much too soon could be overwhelming.
Just keep it simple, "I'd really like to take you to lunch sometime."
She'll know your interested just becuz you asked her!
Anything more and you run the risk of A) scaring her B) making her think you've been stalking her C) there's something wrong with you.
Lol, it's sad but true Smooth, we are conditioned in this society to be wary of one another. So although I am of the same train of thought on being totally up front and jsut saying what you feel, it throws people for a loop.
Now after you've done lunch, maybe another date...you can confess that was what you wanted to do, tell her your facinated and why. By then she will feel like she knows you a little better, and she will be flattered rather than freaked.
Just my humble opinion. Best of Luck!

This thought sponsered by the queen of mis-spellings and run on sentences.

Thank you both for the responses - yeah, I'm probably just over-thinking the situation. It's always difficult working up the nerve though. But I'll get past that somehow!

just ask her - most women would be flattered. i've never said no to a nice guy who asked me out.

I feel I must chime in, here and agree with the off the cuff approach. The only men I ever turned down immediately, were the one that tried to feed me with stupid, tired lines, or the ones who blew smoke up my ass (figuratively, of course).
I know it sounds like a cliche, but, the best advice is BE YOURSELF.
