I picked up a pair of 4 inch red, lacey heels to knock Saki dead with on Valentines.

What a great holiday! It gives you a great excuse to spice things up a little.

Anyone else have a fun outfit planned?

Yeah, but now you've ruined the surprise if Saki reads this topic. Sounds like a nice treat though.

Lunacy - sounds fabulous.

Here's a real kicker though: act like you don't need an excuse to do something really sexy and off-the-wall. Just call it Lover's Tuesday!

Aside from that, Saki is a very lucky guy. And just look at that ADT shirt!!! Maybe go to bed just wearing that?!!!!

Surprise her with a candlelit, romantic music dinner.

It's always the thought behind the gift that matters the most, something like that shows you thought about her, what she would like, rather than what was quick and easy for you AKA a chocolate heart from the grocery store. Not that those aren't yummy and nice too but if you're gonna celebrate V-day do something worthwhile.

No Valentine's plans yet.

What I did for Christmas, was to avoid sex the day before (we went out of town for dinner out and to see Christmas light displays, and came back late). Heheh.

Then we cleared our calendar by opening presents early, making our family visit, and phoning everyone who might possibly have called later.

Then we filled a big bathtub with hot water and had some candlelit rubber ducky races (you can give them an initial push, but after that you have to blow on them)...

We're probably going to go out to a nice restaurant for dinner, which is what we usually do on Valentine's Day. What's nice is that we're both usually done with work by 4 or 4:30, so we go to eat early and beat the later crowds. I'm still thinking about which restaurant we should go to. She's kind of a gourmet, so I try to listen throughout the year about new restaurants she wants to try, and surprise her with one of those.

Over dinner I usually give her a little gift. Last year it was a nice necklace with her birth gemstone. Her absolute favorite Godiva chocolate is probably going to be in the picture too. And for later, partly as a gift to her, and partly as a gift to me, I give her a new pair of sexy panties, which I love buying for her.

I just hope it's a nice day. I've been down about our relationship lately, but that's another story.

Okay, I'm starting to form an idea, but this is just between you and me.

Last Saturday I was in a vintage clothing store and purchased a wedding veil - it's 1950's maybe, with a nice hand-beaded crown. I don't have a white dress or negligee even, but I have white lingerie and pearls.

I'm going to ask him to put on a suit - it's in the closet in the other bedroom. If there was a place in this whole town to wear a suit, he'd probably think we were going out. I don't know what he'll think.

I'm going to let him be the best man.

I wish I did have a dress, but I guess I'll have to let him walk in on me while I'm dressing, and before I get that far.

The beauty of it is, our anniversary is about a week later, and I can do something different with it then.

Husbands and dads--Here's how to make mom happy for Valentine's Day: find a babysitter, and let her come home to a *clean* house and a *cooked* meal, for a change. Little things mean a lot.

Whoo Hoo! Gotta love clearance sales! I picked up a red and black bustier and a black satin corset for $20!

Ah now the dilema, which to wear...

Lindi - check out Victoria's Secret or some other store with lingerie. Target sells some really sexy stuff too.

If you want something sexy to go with the veil, think about a little white satin nightie? (I'm assuming the lingerie you were talking about is bra and panties? If you already meant you have a nightie, then never mind!)

Actually, just the pearls and veil with a pair of heels sounds pretty darn sexy.

Tricia, hehe, yesterday while the hubby was playing chess down at the cafe for a few hours, I snuck out of town to go shopping. I only managed to find a camisole and a long half-slip, but he has a good imagination.

I picked up a few yards of 54" wide lace, and - yipes - a few yards of pearl trim, to add to it later for next time, but I hate sewing, so it will have to be next time.

It was just eating away at me not having a skirt that could be lifted and bunched up...

hehehe.

Hey, DenverDon, take my word for it - this is one of those things that people only think they want to see on film.

I'm not very romantic, and I'm not doing anything (or having anything done for/to me) for V-day, but I'm gonna say things anyway.
Candy, flowers, jewelry, lingerie, and romantic dinners are all nice things if your partner doesn't get them much the rest of the time and if they are things she/he actually likes. None of those would do squat for me, for example, other than show me that my partner didn't have a clue about me and was just trying to do something (which really is sweet, when you take a "it's the thought that counts" stance).
Moms, especially moms with little children, really need to relax and I'm with SueR on her suggestions, but you might also like to rent a hotel room with a jacuzzi and do the scented bubble bath thing and really take her "away" for the evening.
Some things I think would be fun and show me that my partner was "into me" would be showing up with a jigsaw puzzle to work, snackies I like, and a CD of music mixed just for me. If I lived in a warmer climate (this one works for my birthday, btw), show up with a new outdoor plant for my garden (not an indoor plant that I'll be obligated to water and nurse for the next billion years) and help me plant it. Get my car detailed before I get out of bed in the morning (this only works if you have spent the night and snitch my keys - but man was that awesome!).
If you're going to do the gift thing, I know this sounds corny (especially from non-romantic me), but that whole bit where you leave little notes and she/he has to hunt for the gift is really a lot of fun and shows that you totally put effort into getting involved in the gift giving process.

I didn't get to follow my plan last year, because we got a puppy last year on Valentine's Day, and a fluffy gauzy long white dress didn't seem like a good idea.

This year, that was not a problem.

I should have responded to this post earlier but had NO Clue what we were going to do for Valentines Day. We had lots of sex planned and she made it clear that she was going to be in charge. But I had to do something eh? So at the last minute on thursday I made the preperations. A romantic dinner at a pacific diner, followed by trip to the porn store to rent several films. When we got home I surprised her once again with a flower arrangement (I had it hidden in the closet and when we were on our way to get porn I "forgot" my jacket, went back in and set it up) She didn't know we were going to Dinner. Dinner was wonderful.
Once we were back home, I let her do her little thing upstairs. Friday and Saturday were some sex filled days and unforgettable. Hell we have decided to continue Valentines day next weekend.
