Ill be watch a vid from a site porn or youtube. And then out of the blue
it abruptly stops. With annoying/loud static and distortion on-the-screen. Its so bad i have to turn my computer-off
and do a hard re-set.
It does this quite often. And im afraid its taking its toll on my computer.
Having to hard re-set it that much eventually has to do some kind of damage.
What could this problem be?
Have any of you encountered this same exact problem.

The fact that you have to do a hard reset certainly sounds like it could be a hardware problem.
Do you have a DVD player in your computer? If so, does the same thing happen when you play a DVD movie on your computer?

Any chance you can swap monitors? If it happens on one and not the other, then it's likely a monitor issue. If it's on both, then it sounds like the computer would be source.
I would bet it's the monitor giving out.

Its not the monitor. And yes it has done that while playing
a dvd. And ide love to get a new computer. But my finances are
a we bit tight as-of-late.

Still, a bit of experimenting and troubleshooting is required in order to pinpoint the problem area. Have you checked for loose connections of audio cable or video cable (check both ends)? How long is the trouble-free period, before the distortion happens ? 5 minutes? 30 seconds? 1 hour? Does it matter if the computer is hot-started vs. cold-started? Have you tried various different video players (VLC, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, etc.) to see if it makes a difference? Does your computer have a graphics card, or does it use motherboard's built-in onboard graphics processing? Can you switch to different method? (onboard vs graphics card)?
