You seem to have some strong opinions about Scandinavian women, especially Danish and Icelandic ones. You must have some real reason that you think they would want to be in porn films. What do you mean when you say they are mature and adventurous, exactly?

A couple of years ago, I went on a 2 week vacation to Norway, Sweden and Denmark, and came away thinking they were wonderful places to visit, but totally family-oriented. I mean, people took their babies everywhere, like to museums, nice restuarants, etc. How people are in their private lives, I have no idea, but from what I saw, the people in those countries were friendly, but reserved (they do speak good English).

Plus, there's no economic incentive for women to flock to the porn industry from those countries, since everyone can get a decent education, good healthcare, decent enough living conditions (maybe not luxurious, but not ramshackle either). The socialist governments there really take care of people - at the cost of high taxes - but everyone has a real safety net (not like the US).

I'm primarily talent and shoot for other directors / producers. They call me to go somewhere and pay my ticket and my hotel. I've shot so far in Austria, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italia, Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, U.S.A.

Since I've just started producing and shoot only one movie every other month I can only go to places I know. I cannot afford to spent days or weeks in places and try to find girls and locations.

First I would like to commend you on your excellent forum, I have yet to see an Internet forum with the general laidback (no pun intended) and helpful atmosphere as you have here.

Not that I have anything particulary interesting to contribute, but I just wanted to raise a couple of opinions on Scandinavia.

The lack of porn coming out of Norway is in my opinion not due to the general high income of its population, but more to the fact that it is a small transparent country where porn is still a taboo, and people who does participate in such activities are quite easily recognized. You cannot "drown in the masses" as easily as you can in the States, since this entire country have as many inhabitants as an average american city.

Still, I think that the sexual conciousness here is on par if not higher than most other countries. A national newspaper quoted that in Trondheim, a major norwegian city, over 75% of the young population have participated in "advanced" sexual activities, such as anal, group, homoerotic experiences etc. So the potential would be high if it weren't for the closet mentality and of course legal issues. You cannot even watch uncensored porn on cable here or in any form or shape for that matter, due to legal restrictions. Everything has to be imported. This is what you're getting for having a priest as a Prime minister.

Denmark and Sweden are much more liberal in this matter, and the women are (almost) just as pretty. Denmark has a long and distinguished history of porn, and Sweden is not far behind, although I suspect that they have used quite a lot of "hired help".

The only norwegian porn production I can recall is the norwegian beginners series, although probably not released on DVD. There was also this german guy who recruited people into making porn in beginners in Oslo or something. They were assured that it wouldn't be available in Norway, which of course it was, although through Denmark.

Norwegian actors/actresses i can recall:

- Tanja Hansen, from Jessheim right outside Oslo, resides in Spain
- Nanna Grønnevik, AKA Dina Jewel, also from Jessheim IIRC, resides in Denmark
- Sasha Gabor, lives in Norway ATM, had his own little personal sex tour for a while
- Another guy who bragged on national TV a few years ago, cannot remember his name though

It would be great to see more Scandanavians in porn, including the men. However, I think that there's a misconception about Danes, based on the fact that they were the first country to legalize porn and are very progressive in that area, such as bringing in hookers and showing porn in nursing homes. I believe that the willingness or desire to actually do porn does not necessarily correspond with a sexual attitude.

My parents came from a town near Aalborg and I have relatives there. It's my impression that most Scandanavians are family oriented, generally well educated and yes, can be a bit reserved.

Then again, I am none of those things. Go figure.
