Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere (I checked in here and I didn't see it) but apparanrly there is a drafting effort underway to get Stormy Daniels to run for Senate in Louisiana against David Vitter. If you're not one to follow politics, David Vitter is one of these "moral crusaders" who got busted for sticking his pecker where it didn't belong. In this case he's a married man with kids with a thing for hookers (and apparently for wearing a diaper too...but that's neither here nor there).
So apparantly a few voters have decided what Louisiana needs right now is Stormy Daniels and I couldn't agree more. Having heard the two of them speak, I can say Stormy is a lot more intelligent and honest than David Vitter ever could be and a lot easier to look at too ;-).
So let's get together and get Stormy in the Senate. I mean could California be any worse off today if they had elected Mary Carey in the run off? And I think it's clear that Stormy is a tad bit more stable than Mary.
Here's the website and petition http://draftstormy.com/
And Stormy if you decide to run, need a press secretary? LOL

It would be cool to see her do it but I don't think Stormy would want the pay cut the job would entail!!

"1) each senator must be at least 30 years old,
2) must have been a citizen of the United States for at least the past nine years,
3) must be (at the time of the election) an inhabitant of the state they seek to represent."

According to the IAFD she will be 30 on March 17 of this year and is a natural-born citizen. If she is a Louisiana resident when she files she is good to go.

Didn't know she's approaching 30.
She has my support for a political career.
She definitely knows how to be economical successful during an economic slowdown.

I'm doubtful she has enough experience in whoring herself out. A necessary component when the subject of Louisiana politics in the vein of Huey Long, Erwin Edwards, and William Jefferson are being discussed.

^^^^ Probably right about that. She's already smarter and classier than most in politics.
Anyone see the clip on that site? It's of her in a recent 20/20 interview with Martin Bashir and he just comes across as so creepy and condescending toward her. I half expected that wanker to ask her "Now Miss Daniels...some have argued that watching porn instantly causes rectal cancer. How do you expect not to be ashamed of that?" But at least it shows she can humor idiots so maybe she has a career ahead of her in politics after all.
Anyone know if Stormy has had any response to this effort since it sure doesn't seem like it was her idea. I know she's posted from time to time and I'd love to get her take on it.
Hopefully y'all are signing the petition anyway.

This is not personal but you sir have little understanding of the way things work, particularly in the great state of Louisiana. In fact I dare to say there are probibly very few vocations on the planet that pay as well as being a senator in louisiana.

Conservative or liberal? As far as I know your porn work, casting wise, has been quite conservative. Will there be inclusion?
This is where IR comes into the picture. If a pornstar does not perform IR, even says she does not, how can I believe she would fight for all people.

I just saw Stormy's interview about her run for the senate on CNN.
Get the government out of the bedrooms and back in the boardrooms.
Stormy you need a campaign site so people can contribute to your campaign.
I hope you use the campaign theme "being a porn actress is several rungs up the moral ladder than being a politician"
Tell them I've never voted to send peoples jobs oversea.
I've never voted to allow companies to take away pensions.
I've never voted to block people from joining unions.

CNN has picked up this story.
Pornstars running for elective office have to "expand their base" just like any politician. Stormy will have to speak to issues other than sex, and the right to sell sexually-explicit videos. Single issue candidates don't get elected--or taken seriously.
Stormy appears to be smart enough to do this. Still, she's a very long shot to win--even against a sleaze like Dave Vitter. But Stormy can do the entire industry some good by showing that an intelligent woman can choose to work in porn. Which was the element that was missing in the California Governor's race.

Before Stormy runs against David Vitter she needs to win the democratic nomination.
IMO she needs to run her campaign for the democratic nomination against David Vitter and not the other democratic nominees.
Stormy needs to clam the moral high against David Vitter and never ever give it up.
She needs to maintain though out her campaign that porn is the honest honorable profession not politics.
Its a long shot she will win, but Stormy can really promote herself in the main stream.

There's a real opportunity here to at least discuss the issue that makes David Vitter such a scumbag.
None of us here know Stormy's politics (except maybe for Monstar) so I don't know if any of us would vote for her if we were in Louisiana, but the one thing we can tell about Stormy is that she's no hypocrite. A campaign by her can really bring the hypocrisy of David Vitter to light, whether she runs as a Democrat or in a Republican primary (if she should choose to run).
What needs to be spotlighted here is that David Vitter is one of the self appointed moral scolds of the Senate. He wants to bring the government into the bedroom and make sure everyone lives the kind of lifestyle he approves. And that means looking at this stimulus plan and removing vital money for family planning and sex education. His head is too far up his ass and he's too busy nailing himself to his cross to admit that good sexual education and access to condoms and other contraceptives can do so much good. It means less people getting STDs and therefore less money needed for health care. It means less women getting pregnant and therefore less abortions (which I thought was something people like Vitter were supposed to want above everything else). Plus sexual education might mean people might realize that sex is something to be enjoyed and not something to be ashamed of.
Because it cannot be forgotten that after all his talk about morals and decency DAVID VITTER WAS BUSTED GOING TO HOOKERS AND HAVING THEM PUT DIAPERS ON HIM!!!!
At least when Elliot Spitzer was busted in a sex scandal and exposed as a hypocrite, he had the decency to resign. Vitter has the balls to keep on being a hypocrite and you can bet that when he goes to his hookers he wears the condoms he denies other people from having and if his daughter were to one day grow up and become pregnant out of marriage he would make sure she had access to an abortion even as he would deny others that right to choose.
That kind of double standard makes people cynical about politics.
If Stormy were to choose to run, I would hope these issues would be brought to the forefront. Stormy has a hell of a head on her shoulders and maybe she can turn this race into one about this critical issue.
At least that's just my take...

KMB We don't really know how Stormy thinks or will say.
But like a lot of people did with Sara Palin, they will fall in love with her.
I just hope she tells them. To kiss her ass my moral standards are a hell of a lot higher than your.
And drag a few of those snobby bitches off the stage by the hair too. lol

You can't really compare the popularity and adoration of a soccer mom with a porn star. That's a very very very big jump in terms of moral and ethical values. Not that I have anything wrong with porn stars and personally I would vote Stormy Daniels before Sarah Palin but most of mainstream society wouldn't based solely on the fact that Stormy Daniels is a porn star.
But all of that being said, it is a good publicity movie. If nothing else it keeps her name in the spotlight and in the news and well pulling a page from the Vivid book of marketing, the more your name is said the more people will remember you and the more your movies will sale and the more memberships people will buy to her official website.
That's just a known fact so in the end even if she doesn't have a chance in heck at winning the race, just running is millions and millions of dollars in free promotion for her career as a porn star.
People like Mary Carey really never was that popular of a porn star but she was able to ride that wave of publicity for years and turn that into a career as a D list reality TV star and that alone keeps her name in the top 10 most famous porn stars (see Fame Registry for the results). Mary Carey was never a huge name when it came to DVD sales, but with the help of the news going on and on and on about the porn star running for governor it drove her fame rating through the roof.
Someone like Stormy Daniels who is significantly more attractive, better spoken and by far more popular as a porn star, I can only imagine what this will do for her career.

If she was really serious about this ambition she would be running for city council, county commissioner, state legislature-something that could at least be put on a political resume. It is damned near impossible to get elected to the U.S. Senate without an iota of previous legislative experience. Either that or establish residence in Minnesota and try again six years from now.

I agree with you about how Mary Carey milked that campaign run, and Stormy seems to be doing a better job, with the Draft Stormy site, and she already has a solid PR machine behind her.
That said, Mary Carey, though not much of an on-camera fuck, brings a certain humor to her work with Playboy.

She's smart, and it might do wonders for the manner in which the adult industry is perceived.

See the thing is before any of that happens I really want to know where does she stand on the issues?
I love her anti-Vitter stance, but is she pro choice? support gay marriage? what does she want to do in terms of approach to foreign policy? I know she's said she supports the fair tax (I don't agree but its hardly a deal breaker) but otherwise I haven't heard her really get in depth about her position on the issues.
One thing that's been clear from every interview is this is no "Fuck it, I'm bored and want publicity" show like Mary Carey's run for governor. Stormy is taking this seriously and has provided intelligent, well thought out answers when asked about why she's doing this. But all that makes me want is to hear more. Where does she stand on critical social issues of today?
I would love to donate. I think this is a fascinating story and a chance to have a real debate about the rank hypocrisy we see today in so many of our politicians of both parties, but before we start investing in this campaign either through money or energy, we clearly need to know where she stands.
I want to support Stormy because I believe in what she's campaigning on, not just because I like her.

Good point. I got a bit ahead of myself and just made assumptions about her positions--which may or may not pan out.
That said, I expect that her positions will be reasonable--particularly given that she is at least something of an anti-Vitter candidate...and we know where he stands on things.
But, the platform certainly has to come out first--as I'm sure that it will.

She strikes me as a bit of a libertarian, but compared to the "family values" Bible thumping hypocrisy of a David Vitter is certainly a refreshing change of pace.
I completely agree with you. I'm sure the positions are coming. Like I said Stormy appears to be taking this very seriously. This is not an "I have tits. Vote for me." kind of candidacy and I would like to see Stormy booked on some more shows. Get her on Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow. If Stormy is taking this seriously, then she deserves to be taken seriously by the media and political observers.

Listen you guys, and please listen Stormy. I have met you and know how genuine you are. You want to do good by all people. However, high level politics is not what it used to be . I know, I have been in it and know many who are in it and in fairly lofty levels. If you want to keep your own personal dignity and honest do not do this. Your life will not be your own for starters. You will be unable to please everyone because politics has become a game for money and special interests. The media has created an illusion that the goverment will take take of everyone and no single politician will be able to answer to that because it is a fallacy. Your heart will be torn apart by people wanting everything from you. Hey just ask Arnold if he still enjoys getting up for each "fun" day in Sacramento.
You have a gift and a talent for raisng the bar in the adult industry. Don't give that up yet. You're the best and you can positively impact people privately much more directly than being a public figure. Think about it!

Being able to handle narrow minded fools like this is one of Stormy's best assets. People expect some giggling bimbo stereotype (kind of like the one Mary Carey played when she ran for governor) and instead they end up looking like the idiots when Stormy shows just how intelligent and well spoken she is.
People who underestimate her are making a mistake, but then again we already know that LOL

She can't be a serious contender in terms of winning a primary, but what she can do is move the debate. An outside force like her can sometimes force the other candidates onto the issues that otherwise might not have been brought up.
But like I have always said we need to know where Stormy stands on a lot of the critical social issues out there today. That's why I look forward to a rea; debate, I have no doubt she could leave Vitter stammering and choking on his answers.
