arrghh...I have a new place with super lame internet connections. I'm used to Hotmovies PPM, but it hangs alot at this sub meg speed. Any advice? Are there other sites faster, or some way to rent scenes and dl or something? I'm really against buying anything because I like to graze and not watch the same thing three times...

Try videobox.com, they seem to load and stream faster than hotmovies, on Videobox you can download clips or parts of scenes too. The unlimted monthly use deal is good value for money.

I'm going to see if videobox is better, but unfortunately they have 8000 videos compared to hotmovies 140,000 :-(

From your initial post, it seems like the issue is your connection speed from your ISP. Jumping around to different videostreaming sites can't change that. Does your ISP offer a faster speed (for more money)?
Also, if you can live with downloading rather than streaming, your connection speed doesn't matter, but you won't have instant gratification.

Actually, my ISP is dial up, no cable access either, in the sticks. I'm using cellular wi-fi, and it's a science project, don't get me started, but the bottom line is connection speed blows. >1mg and choppy.

So if you're stuck with that connection speed, you should forget about streaming and focus on finding good sources of downloadable content. But...another thing to consider is HD content is very unforgiving of a slow connection or a slow/old computer. Have you confirmed the choppiness on both SD content and HD content?
And another thing is some video sellers are offering mp4 videos which are tailored for small screens and cellular connections. They might look crappy on a big PC screen but who knows it's worth a try. Bottom line: experiment and try out various options and be willing to compromise and see what works best for you.
