Well I'm on a mission to find another high quality paysite to join. That means a lot of surfing, a lot of research, and a lot of reading of the fine print and terms and conditions. I've learned my lesson having been fooled before by misleading tours and broken promises.

During my surfing, I've noticed that some paysites only offer videos in the streaming format. For those that might not be familiar with streaming videos, they can only be viewed from a browser on your computer screen. You watch it in real time and they cannot be downloaded to your hard drive.

I find it amazing that some paysites actually advertise streaming videos as a benefit to potential subscribers. The reality is that most surfers who are familiar with streaming videos will run like hell from the site as soon as they see the words "streaming videos". A lot of perverts like me have kids, and some have wives that don't approve of their porn viewing (thank god I'm not one of them). Because of these factors sometimes we need to be sneaky to get our porn fix. Being limited to watching the porn from our computer screen just isn't to sneaky or convenient for that matter.

Streaming videos can be useful if used properly, and that is to provide it as an option to subscribers as a ways to preview a video before downloading it to make sure we like it.

How do you all feel about streaming videos? Would you subscribe to a paysite on a monthly recurring charge that only offered videos in the streaming format? I guess some perverts must like it or else these sites wouldn't be able to survive. Or perhaps they get a lot of traffic consisting of inexperienced surfers who just don't know any better. Hell, I don't know. Interested in your opinion.....

I don't like streaming only sites. I can store my porn on a secure hard drive and view at my leisure. Streaming keeps me from saving what I have paid for.

I'd never pay for streaming videos. Too awkward and inconvenient to watch.

I thought streaming sucked until I heard about paysites using DRM for their movies. DRM is the biggest scam on the internet!

Do streaming and DRM sites make any money? since most subscribers won't bother with these sites.

I actually like Streaming cause it is instant access. I don't typically download scene - Once I've seen a scene I move on to the next so streaming works for me.

As far as good sites, I just joined videobox.com based off numerous good reviews. I must say it is very good and you can both stream and download and there is no DRM - The video quality is good as well. It has more than 400 videos on the site - I had been a member of videoz.com which is good too. But I do like videobox better because they seem to have more gonzo type titles than videoz. Videobox also has better video quality and does not buffer on new releases. Finally the price is right - $10 a month.

Streaming only sites are the worst imo. If im paying for site i expect to be able to download the content. Im sorry to say I've been fooled into to subscribing to a site with streaming only cuz the previews look good, but now I check reviews and read the fine print before I give em my hard earned money.

I think sites should offer both .

Provided streaming in offered through quicktime & preferrably windows media it can work well. Java is slow.

However, sites like meatholes.com (and all those that come with it) allows download only.

The problem with that is that it often 10 parts, which personally, I find to be really really annoying - it gets confusing which parts you have downloaded and which you haven't, and you keep having to change the video every few minutes. Download is this format is a total no-no.

BangBros.com offer streaming, one big download, or download in parts. 1 membership gets you access to all their sites. You should check that out.

The pay site that bears my name (over which I only have partial say) offers almost everything streaming, & I hate it. I agree that it's a rip-off if that's ALL there is.

I might not be a fan of the Bang Bros vibe but it sounds like they've gone the extra trouble to do right by their customers.

I personally hate streaming-only sites too, so when we started a video site, I insisted on downloadable non-DRM clips, and we did. You can download them per scene, so not 10 files for one scene. But if you're on dial-up you're going to need a proper downloadmanager, which we allow AFAIK.

Hard to say but I noticed that are various forms of DRM. The one that you only have to pay for once and you keep the license forever and you can watch the movie whenever you want even when you're not a member of the site anymore, then you have the DRM movies where you have to keep being a member of the site otherwise you can't verify the license of the movie meaning you can't watch the movie. Now that I consider a scam, I mean for the companies it's a great way to make money but I won't do it. I want to cancel my membership and still watch the movies I have downloaded.

I'm currently a video box member, but am unable to download or stream any of their videos. In fact, it is months since I was last able to.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it perhaps something to do with my being in the UK [has anyone else in the UK experienced it]?

There's programs out there that you can use to download the streaming videos.

I hate streaming videos. They are indeed only good for trailers, and suchlike.

I have no problem streaming videobox.com - I've not tried to download, but suspect I'd be able to

I think the reason why I have difficulty downloading \ streaming from VideoBox is because my ISP is routing me to Videobox.com via Cogent \ Level3.

The problem with the first type is when you want to move your movies to another harddisk (upgrade, new computer), you can usually only do that a limited amount of times. If your not a member anymore, or if the website doesn't exist anymore, you can't get a new license and you're screwed.
Luckily my boss understands too that DRM is wrong, you should never treat your customers as criminals. All DRM is usually cracked within days and it just annoys the majority of your customers, most of whom are honest.
The second type of DRM is just evil!

Agree and this is the reason why there are hackers and pirates because of this crap. The companies have the right to protect their work but this is not protecting work, this is taking as much money from members. I hope DRM doesn't become the next big thing which I doubt because people are already cracking it with no problem.
