AVN has sold AdultBouncer prime ad space for years, DeluxePass too. Today I see an advertisement for SwapBucks, a new ecommerce-enabled Peer-2-Peer file trading thingy/network. What the studios need to be concerned about is how this new company acquires content. On their website they make a pitch to all owner of 'LICENSED' content to add their content and make money off it. Here's the crux of the matter - they add that you must have as part of your license to said content, 'redistribution rights for marketing purposes' - NO WEB LICENSE CONTAINS THIS! Stop getting raped at the hands of web companies. I seem to be the only person on the Internet side of the business who is watching your backs. Do you want another Adult Bouncer? I am on the side of the studios and the directors and talent who work for them. To me - you are blue collar - you manufacture a product with your own hands, a whole community of people and families are dependent on the success of the studios. This SwapBucks thing is not illegal - neither is the concept behind AdultBouncer - but for either of these two entities to succeed they rely on an army of people to screw the studios over by making stolen content available or to use content is such a way that is prohibited by a license agreement. The future of the Internet belongs to the content providers, VOD downloading, streaming PPV, membership sites with exclusive content. Don't blow your second chance on the Internet by letting cyber entrepreneurs dazzle you with pocket change. [Link] |
