If even one company charged the real amount, then all international customers would certainly buy from that company. It seems stupid to me, as they can only lose money by operating the way they do! It's just that single item purchases are really expensive with the adult retailers. I've had some friends in the US send me DVDs before and it generally costs them about half what the online retailers charge. Still, it's the price we pay to get hold of DVDs which either aren't available here or are cheaper for us to buy from the US even with the shipping charges. ------------------ Dan. If the shipping was around $5 + $1.50 for each extra, then I would take a chance on allot of disks, which with the current over-charging I can't. I can't see how it's in their interest! Most express shipping charges are within reason. We charge $18.00 for UPS Express to the UK and Japan for 1-6 DVDs, $26.00 for 7-10 DVDs and $2.00 for each additional DVD after that. Most other major countries are $20.00 for the first 1-6, and additional $8.00 for 7-10 DVDs and $2.00 each additional. I would agree that international shipping charges need to be appealing to customers, but it is really unrealistic to think that they will be right on par with the domestic shipping rates being listed. They will not pick them up for you. Therefore the company needs to send an employee to the local post office to stand in line to ship your packages. Everyone knows what a wonderful experience it is to visit your local post office at the end of the business day. It could make an enternity in hell seem like a tropical resort. 2) There is extra paperwork and time involved in preparing an international order for shipment. With domestic orders you can just slap a computer generated shipping label on the box and a $3.20 stamp for Priority Mail and you are ready to go. With international there's a lot more involvled. At my previous job the shipping department was able to package and ship 5 domestic orders to every one international order. 3) International orders are lost more often than domestic orders. Companies need to charge a little more to offset these expenses (or simply charge more for their products across the board). I'm sure that there are other reasons in addition to the actual shipping charges being higher. I figured these where the most important ones. [Link] |

As for shipping methods we use Air Mail and UPS or DHL. I am not familiar with their shipping methods/pricing. <quote>2: Why don't you offer a price-match service? We have never really considered it as some companies get special offers/deals from different studios/manufacturers/distributors that enables them to price certain titles/lines at "insanely" low prices that would cause a "price-matching" site to lose a significant amount of money. For example our current LIPSTICK SALE ($8.84 each) would cause another store to lose money if they "price-matched" these titles. More than likely the stock they have on hand is at the regular price/wholesale price and in most cases the sale price offered by another site may be lower than their actual cost. We try to price new additions to our site on par with the lowest priced sites and most times lower. We are always open to emails regarding the price we are charging for a title and will lower it if at all possible. If we can't we will be honest and let you know. We base our pricing on our "wholesale" cost, not a "Suggest Retail Price" (which I have yet to ever see set by an Adult Studio). Therefore, if at all possible we will match the price and in fact lower the price on the site so you can order it at that price and not worry about checking your credit card statement. With Foreign orders, it depends on the country, but let's take UK. For UK orders, if we did the same thing, the order would be confiscated! We have to strip each DVD of its case, wrap the disk and cover in special protective sealer, and place in an envelope. Then we need to fill out customs forms and labels. All this is very time consuming. Most of our customers are very pleased to receive the the product, but it is unfortunate the UK forces us to go to such great lengths to get an order through!
