I would like to have the ability to search for reviews via the director. For example, I'd like to be able to type in "Rocco Sifreddi" and have all the reviews of DVDs that he has "directed" come up. then i can scan the "star ratings" and see which movies he has done that people like.

I would recommend the following two methods:

1) Input the stars name i.e. Rocco Silfredi in the field in the top left hand corner of this page. Then click on star and then 'Search'.
You will then have a list of movies that are available on-line.

2)Alternatively, click on the IAFD.com link in the bottom left hand corner of this page.
Then input the stars name i.e. Rocco Silfredi, then select performer and then click search. IAFD will put your results in two groups: Perfomer and Director.

You can go to the review page and type in his name and click for the option of 'review text' as many reviewers list the directors in their reviews. You can also go to the advanced search page and do a search for director 'Rocco Siffredi' and click on the box for only titles with reviews which is probably easier than the first way I described.

like flash said, use the advanced search - there are a lot more options - for example you can use it to search for reviews of movies with certain performers by a certain director, from x studio.

yes, I am aware of what you all said. but I want to be able to search for REVIEWS.

I only get a listing of the movies with a link to the review with what you describe. I can't see the "whole picture" this way. that is I can't sort by date or by highest rating etc. and if I do a review text search sometimes movies come up that rocco didn't direct.

sorry to be nit picky, im just clarifying my suggestion :)

liam, you will have your wish :)

the entire review system will be redone, with advanced search capablities, reviewer profiles, and more nifty features. it's a major job that is going to take some time. the review system is the first major piece of functionality created on adt, so in internet time it's archaic.

the review check box on the advanced search page was intended as an "in the meantime" item.
