The problem with many fans is that they think they own the performers and should be therefore allowed to dictate what they do with their bodies just account of buying their merchandise. Yes it's sad but it still happens entirely too often. What's hilarious is the number of adult performers who get work done, don't tell their fans and the audience is shocked when the truth is laid bare.
