I've seen the same house in a THOUSAND scenes! Front door with the glass inlays, taupe carpet, marble floor, but the most standout feature is the stairs with brass handrail and glass. Anybody know what I'm talking about? Whose house is this, and why are so many scenes shot there?
That is funny, cuz I just watched that season on dvd. I kept thinking(hoping) that Jules Jordan would come out and put a leash on her and walk her around the house.
Well, I know a bit about real estate here in the SF Valley, and I think you may be confusing houses of similar architecture and design, all built in Woodland Hills and Canoga Park in the 50's and 60's. Your description fits about half of the larger houses in that area.
Here's the thing about that house: it's clean, there's plenty of parking, lots of different places to shoot, and the owners are completely cool about having porn shot in their house. Believe it or not, ALL those things are hard to find in one place.
I was amazed visiting several houses how many places there really are to shoot ... but most scenes end up being shot in the same spot ... I guess it has to do with outdoor light coming in ... Jake Malone's been doing some cool night shooting lately, and I think it's good variety, gives some different psychology to a scene. Overall, though, I'm super bored by the recurrent sameness of all the gonzo real estate.
A few years back, in the Living Room, there was always a very visible picture of who I assumed was the daughter of the home owner. It was sitting on a shelf of the entertainment system that surrounded a 50-60" TV (they have since pulled the system out and hung a flat screen on the wall with some pod speakers on either side). She had big, curly black hair and the picture frame was gold. It was sitting there in every single scene. Anyone else remember?
ooooh that house! i know what u are talking about! i remember jenna haze did her flesh hunter #2 scene in that house. it was great, it was 3 guys on jenna, first they fuck her in the living room, then they fuck her on the stairs, then they carry her up the stairs and fuck her in the main bedroom. very hot
I remember reading somewheres that Lynn Redgrave's house was used to shoot porn in the '80s nius her being in it of course. Maybe 'that' house is 'THAT' house. But I can't remember the titles of the movies off the top of my head at the moment.
That house has to be one of the most shoot friendly houses I have ever been to. I think the reason so many people shoot there is for various reasons such as...
1)The house is always clean, I believe they have a maid come a few times a week. 2) The owners leave the place and let you do your thing. No creepy home owners lurking behind every corner. 3) It is gated! 4) And on top of it (depending on your relationship with the owner) he offers fresh cut fruit,espressos and cappucinos as well as towels for after scene showers!
I wish a lot more location owners would take notes from this guy.
I assume that you pay a location fee when you use their house. Have they made enough renting out their place by the hour to finance the purchase of their next home?

that house is very common, i think it is great that some of the mcmansion type homes in the valley are used for porn. Also a lot of the RLD stuff is shot in the same house with the futon and blue walls anyone no what i am talking about?

I dont know about the same houses being used over and over, BUT man, some of these houses are friggin beautiful!! like mini mansions!!!!! Some people say a lot of the porn business has often been run by mafia. To be honest, I think maybe thats why some of the porn dvds are shot in some really beautiful houses. some of those houses might be owned by some mafia captains and under-bosses who have some influence in some of the porn companies. Im sure theres some truth to that. ...Remember Randy West's up and cummers videos? Shot in randy's house, I think. Randy's house is decent, but man, from those videos, it doesnt look like Randy was raking in huge amounts of money. ...now then there those "nina hartley's guide" dvds that she does for "adam and eve" productions. Looks like those are done in a second floor warehouse loft.
yes i often wondered about the clean up after scenes,, is it done by the crew,, or are some things just thrown away,, ie, couches,,chairs,,pillows,, or are they just left dirty and used over and over again,?

I don't mind that the same house is used over and over in a lot of scenes, as long as it isn't used in EVERY SINGLE SCENE. That would definitely get old! No, what bothers me more are these grungy locations and sets, where the backdrop is such that it detracts from the performers.
The only porn house I recognize is Beetlejuice with the green hallway and this pool: I've seen it so much I'm ready to start boycotting videos if I see it in the screenshots.
I don't think anyone even shoots there anymore. The owners are an eccentric couple. The inside of the house is exactly like Beetlejuice, which is actually what it's known as in porn valley. Its way way way out there too! If you ever see a bust of a woman's head in the background of a scene, its the homeowner's wife. strange stuff. lol

I like the episode of Family Guy where Brian goes to Hollywood hoping to be a director, he can't get work so he ends up directing porn movies like 'You've Got Male..... Genitalia' and 'Welcome to my Face'. A surprise visit from Peter and the family, Peter walks into the house where Brian is shooting a movie and says 'Hay I know this house, I've seen it in lots of movies'......it really made me laugh.
I'll stay there for a week and report back my findings.

Actually, the house could be used as the set up for a porn film. Basic plotline would be porn stars go to a house and the porn vibe from previous shoots overwhelm the subconscious of the occupants and they have to reinact the scenes.
