Just finished watching this main stream film, starring Jeff Bridges and several other established actors, entitled 'The Amateurs," which should be required viewing for anyone connected with the adult film industry, imho.
The story line centers around a group of "ne'er do wells" from small town America, who decide to make a porn film, and the trial and tribulations they encountered, kept me "in stitches," practically the entire movie.
The film just came out on DVD this week, and you don't even have to be an "insider" with the porn industry, to appreciate the many pitfalls involved in putting together an amateur adult-themed film, from the ground up, so to speak--I especially liked the lack of porno-sized penis dilemma which Bridges, as the producer and director, Joe Patliolagno (sp?--the actor from "the Sopranos) encountered, when they hired, unseen, three Black factory workers for the IR scenario.
Some of the other characters playing their roles extremely well, imo, are, Ted Danson, Glenn Headley, and Valerie Perrine.
So,in conclusion, I sincerely hope youall enjoy "The Amateurs," and that this "heads up" re such a hilarious, well-written "spoof" on porn is appreciated.
